"We’ve been coming to The Sawmill restaurants for years maybe or more. In the past, the service was top knotch, high end; the ambiance was dark, cozy, romantic and the food presentation and taste was always spot on….I’m so disappointed to say that...our last visit was far from any of our past experiences. Firstly, the ambiance is now ‘cafeteria’ like. The lighting is full blast, tables are not beautifully set prior to arrival, tables are not positioned to provide the restaurant with a cozy, romantic, high end feel A The fireplace wasn’t even lit! Our server was polite and VERY enthusiastic! ‘Awesome! That’s what I like to hear!!’ Is not conducive to the level of dining experience we expected. The food was mediocre. Again, not the level of The Sawmill of the past. I have to wonder if Tom Goodchild still owns/operates this restaurant? The group may have won dining accolades in the past but it’s been a while…."

"I have been coming to this restaurant regularly since I moved to Edmonton in 2008. It is family run, and they are very friendly and down to earth. The service is always fantastic. The food is excellent I've never been disappointed (unlike at some other, more expensive, restaurants). Don't bother with the wine their other beverages are much better. Absolutely love this restaurant!"
