"Went to subway on the bypass, the woman serving was grumpy and look fed up, there was no chicken and no meatballs, the salad looked like it was out all day, we had a breakfast sub,tasteless, thin bacon, nor enough filling, it was awful, we will not be going back, will be going to Greggs next door instead, even my dog wouldn't eat it, waste of money the place should be closed?"

"Instant coffee sold at real coffee prices. £4.30 for bacon baguette and coffee. Ordered bacon baguette, bacon uncooked, lots of very hard fat, asked for butter but was given margarine, no explanation that butter wasn’t available, just substituted without discussion. Utterly vile. The closest I’ve come to throwing food away in years. On the plus side the lady serving was friendly and they had a very tasty looking range of lunchtime sandwich fillings."

"Disappointed really as this pub was one I frequently attended 54 yeas ago when their steak sandwiches were to die for. I took my husband as the menu on the website looked promising and he was looking forward to the steak. However although the surroundings were great and the service was very good the menu we were offered was the summer menu not the one advertised. My Husband chose the steak kebab and satay sauce with flat bread? Although the steak was good the satay sauce was too liguidy and lacking in flavour and a salad was served on top off the flat bread not really presented well. We ordered a starter of olives with focaccia bread but this came with our main meal so was wasted really. My salmon with linguini was better than advertised as instead of smoked salmon it was poached salmon which I preferred and was delicious,, if a little cooker not piping hot. The wine was excellent. I hade desert of ice cream which in fact was Rick hard and tasted more sorbet than ice cream. The waiter was excellent."

"We have eaten here a few times since our last review but I think it is time to up date it...a year on ....Still great! We went as a family from age up, there was something for every one. Chicken nuggets for the youngest,...burgers looked lovely and thoroughly enjoyed! The carne pizza was delicious and big enough for us all to have a little taste! it was also Friday fish night so that included fish and chips and a bottle of wine for it was delicious and the so was the wine! They always have a selection of well kept local beers and you always get a warm welcome, it was busy with a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend for a reasonably priced but delicious evening out."

"As a simple, country inn The Temple Bar cannot be recommended too highly. My wife and I stayed for four nights, Our room, the Hay on Wye, was clean and comfortable. The food was in quality well above standard pub food, and the beer was excellently kept. Gino, the landlord, went out of his way to be helpful and welcoming, as did all the rest of the staff. We'd love to come again. It's a shame we live a long way away."
