"The croissants are ok, but sandwiches and cakes have an industrial taste. The bread for the soft sandwiches has a strange consistency that is not good. The ration bread/filling is terrible not enough ham etc. Only bread with bread."

"Great little place for a sandwich or hot dog and a drink. Beautiful lady serves us and fast service. Pavement snack and a glass of wine, just the job. Stop with children for a snack before you get the train, great location."

"Beautiful chalet-style restaurant in the centre of Chateau d'Oex serves regional specialities. We visited in April during their fondue festival and were treated to a wonderful trio of fondues, all cheese based : the Gruyere Chateau is just on the street. There were also meat...taste, rustis and raclette for not fondue lovers. The service was friendly, efficient and welcoming and also child-friendly (especially King Charles Spaniels! The wine list was simple with a selection of local and international wines and the menu was at a reasonable price for the area."

"A little take away place with some seats inside. Not much to look at but the pizzas are good and reasonably priced compared to other places in town. They also have kebabs, pasta, salads etc and beers and spirits. Good service and friendly people. Ideal to take away and walk across the road to the park on the lake."

"We were glad to find this restaurant when walking along the lakeside. It was happy to serve just a couple of coffees where there seemed very few cafes which looked over the lake. At 5 SwFr each, the coffee were not cheap, nor especially good,...and service was slow. However, it was worth it for the view of the sun setting behind the mountains across the lake. We were almost alone on the terrace when we sat down, but there was quite a throng when we left."

"I went here on two consecutive evenings. The food was good with enough choice, as was the service. Had lake fish with bisque the first night and fondue, salad and a frozen soufflé with pear on the second night. There's a friendly warm atmosphere and the waitress put up with my poor French. I was staying at the Victoria on a reminiscing trip but wasn't prepared to pay their dinner prices, and this restaurant is very handily just down the hill."
