"At first glance, I wasn't a fan of the ambiance with its strange blue skies. But it's actually quite nice. The food is delicious and there's plenty of vegan choices, prices are reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. The café has its unique personable charm. I've come back several times and will continue to do so"

"Best coffee on the street (maybe ever? always a cappuccino or latte. really beautiful owners and family business. very friendly and welcoming. the finished pizzas are a life saving when they take a quick lunch and are unrealistic. has made amazing paninis, sandwiches, desserts all hand. 5* every day and everyone in my workstation is here regularly and I am sure that come for years. highly recommended"

"Personal very friendly and welcoming. it was so busy because of half the time, but the staff said they had limited pay due to restrictions, I can't imagine more people, it felt busy enough. it is very expensive in caffe, softdrinks are almost £2 a bottle, so for a family this 't come cheap and once they in eat aswell the pounds quickly added, my sohn 't eat the cheese sandwich as he said it was terrible .we also had chickenuggets and this seemed a hit, so a little hit was. we spent 3 hours here overall and that was enough for us, the young said they had a great time and that is the main thing. it is not a place where I would come back, but it is certainly worth visiting if they were not before, just ready to delete for everything."

"I was working a gig over in Gateshead at The Sage on Wednesday (1st Feb) afternoon and knowing I had a long evening to come was looking for a bite to eat nearby. I then remembered the Head of Steam on Newcastle’s Quayside and that it had been some years since I’d last payed this venue a visit. The guys behind the bar were polite and friendly, I ordered myself a latte to start with, then picked up a menu and selected a Bourbon Smoker triple pattie burger, ‘cheezy tater tots’ (the way is’s written on the menu) some giant homemade onion rings and a pint of lemonade for the big lad on table 10. Food came within good time and was absolutely spot on, venue is comfortable, clean and a nice place to eat/chill out, ambiance pretty good, music played but not excessively loud, the HOS Quayside is definitely worth a visit, although a tad pricey for soft drinks!"
