"The staff were very friendly and willing to please. I ordered the NY loin steak. It was so tough that I could not eat it. However they did replace the steak. It was less tough but lacked flavor. The surroundings show the age of the...building and has a stale odor and needs a good cleaning. Just not my choice for enjoying a meal"

"A number of months ago the Blue Canoe changed ownership and I've noticed a decline both in the quality of the menu offerings and in the level of service.It is unfortunate that what I once enjoyed about the Blue Canoe is no longer experienced. The staff the last few visits has been surly and not very service oriented. The bakery shelves are just about bare. The wait time to get food takes far too long.I wanted to give the Blue Canoe a few more chances but after recent experiences, it's safe to say that I'll be going elsewhere in town."

"Went for soup and sandwiches and considering the price the thin, tiny 1.5 slices of meat and 1 slice of cheese on the massive sandwich was very disappointing. The bread was amazing and so was the soup but it looks like they are skimping on the sandwich toppings"

"The title of this review pretty well sums it up. Although they are far from being the only cafe around that has fallen victim to the siren song of coffee that is taken several thousand degrees beyond French Roast to the point where you might as well be licking ash, the product is still is fundamentally distasteful to any reasonable coffee connoisseur. Most of my vitriol, however, will be directed at the sandwiches which set you back eight bucks for barely enough filling to make an hors d'oeuvre and are paradoxically soggy from a vinaigrette so sharp that it sends shudders down your spine. On the positive side: The staff is absolutely wonderful, friendly, attentive, and courteous, and the place itself is a comfortable retreat from the overall seediness of downtown Salmon Arm, a dumpy, derelict AlbertanDollar-milking little resort town squatting on a malodorous swamp with woefully pathetic aspirations to hip trendiness. (Can you tell that I'm not exactly a Salmon Arm booster?)My best advice? Put the pedal to the metal and stop in Kamloops or Vernon instead. Better towns, better coffee, better food."
