"Have been coming to Aera since I was a student and still love it. It's nothing fancy but it does exactly what it says on the can and always hits the spot. With eating and drinking getting more and more expensive in the 1st district (with these cost increases not necessarily being matched by improvements in quality), Aera continues to offer good value with a relaxed atmosphere for all age groups.The menu offers a range of drinks and food, from classic Wiener schnitzel to stuffed pancakes and antipasti. Prices are very reasonable, portions are generous and the food is fresh and of good quality. A practical solution for groups who can't decide on what type of food they want to eat. Vegetarians have plenty of options to choose from.Last time I was there, I took the Italian antipasti platter, which was the best antipasti I have had anywhere in Vienna - or anywhere at all, for that matter. A huge serving of mozzarella, feta cheese, prosciutto, grilled veg (the roasted red peppers were truly delicious) and olives - served with more pizza bread than I could eat.The warehouse-style interior has a shambolic sort of charm (toilets can be described as "grunge", but are still acceptable), and is even cosy in the winter, thanks to the enormous industrial radiators under the windows. There is an attractive deck outside in summer.A thoroughly likeable place."

"We stayed at the grand hotel wein and had breakfast here every morning of our fifth night stay. many bread and juice options. champagne, too. nice warm menu choice, made to order to complete their breakfast meal. service was great. Menu elements always came fast."

"I went to the opening of the new restaurant on Keplerplatz yesterday and went to dinner today and loved it both times. The opening was fun and gave us a good impression of what the restaurant is like, but especially today's dinner was great. I had the Farmers Burger with a Seitan patty and it was delicious. Didn't expect it to be this good to be honest. It was almost topped by the brownie, which was one of the best desserts I've ever had. The staff was friendly and attentive and did everything so we would have a nice evening. We will definitely come back quite often, not only because we basically live across the street, but also because this is a place which could become a second living room."

"Horrible service,the female cashier(dark hair) with the initials MB was very disrespectful and rude throughout all service. She kept commenting and probably insulting us in her language. I have never experienced worse service anywhere,better go somewhere else!"

"Wer hier schreibt, dass sich das Pastrami mit Katz und Konsorten messen kann, war wohl noch nie in New York, aber für Wiener Verhältnisse ist es gut. Das Fleisch wird kalt aufgeschnitten und dann wieder angewärmt und nicht wie in New York heiß mit dem Messer gesäbelt. Die Würzung könnte noch deutlich kräftiger sein, v.a. mehr Pfeffer wäre wünschenswert.Das Brot ist leider nur mäßig und die angeblich selbstgemachten Pickles sind viel zu süß und haben mit den knackigen Dill-Pickles in NY überhaupt nichts zu tun (schade!). Dafür gibt es etwas Coleslaw zum Sandwich, das zwar gut schmeckt, aber nicht unbedingt zum Pastrami muss.Leider wieder ein absolutes Hipsterlokal mit mir unsympathischen "Stil" und Service. Offenbar interssiert sich außerhalb dieser "Szene" niemand für Pastrami in Österreich.Die Preise für die Sandwiches sind relativ hoch und die Portionen aus meiner sicht mäßig. 250g Pastrami...da lache ich nur, in den den USA geht es doch teilweise in den Pfund-Bereich! Natürlich ist Pastrami hier noch ein Nischenprodukt und Rindfleisch generell teurer, aber wäre das Lokal effizienter, wären sicher konkurrenzfähigere Preise machbar, aber ich glaube man will nur für ein "ausgewähltes" Publikum arbeiten.Senf Mittelmaß und nicht am Tisch, sondern vorab im Sandwich.Wer Pastrami wirklich vermisst und kein Problem mit Authentizität, Preis und Hipstervierteln hat kann gerne zugreifen, der Rest von uns muss weiter träumen oder wieder einmal nach NYC!"
