"We were very tired and went for an early meal. There was only one other couple in the restaurant and two waiters, so service was very good. I had the pig's cheek which was supposed to be inspired by the 1942 menus. It was different and I enjoyed it. My wife had cod in cheese sauce which was also good. While we waited (no evidence of microwaving here) we were given rather nice complimentary nibbles. We were tempted by a very reasonably priced flute of sparkling wine each, which made it a bit more of a special meal. A lovely way to end the day."
