"RIP OFF. We went to dinner here with 6 ppl, went for the banquet as it was recommended for larger groups. We started off well with 3 appetisers coming in quick but we literally got 1 plate of each dish to split between 6 of us. I asked 2 waiters if we were going to get more to share, they said I 'll go check and they never returned. The mains took 30mins to come out and were also 1 dish to share between 6 ppl and possibly the worst ribs I 've ever had, 50% fat and gristle. Outside of this experience the whole theme of this restaurant is racially questionable. The final bill was insane, $300+ each and we were all hungry. Classic Merivale spot."

"The person delivering my order ignored the cross road information AND the precise directions I had included when ordering online with details of how to get to the entrance to my block. I live about 3 minutes from the restaurant, and received a call saying they were no where near my street number.The result was tepid miso soup and cold fried squid (yuk). Inexcusable really."

"After searching months for a private dining room for my sister's Hens, I was reccomened The Crane Bar. I've never been here before and was very excited and looking forward to a great night out. The venue looks great and perfect for our event. <br>
But sadly last night, I experienced one of the worst let downs in Hospitality.<br>
Event manager Chris took my booking for a group of 10 for the private room in The Forbidden Fortress weeks ago. <br>
He assured me through an email, my booking was confirmed and I can have the private room.<br>
I left him numerous of messages and emails requesting for him to get back with me regarding deposits and final numbers. A week later and not hearing anything back from him I called the venue twice to confirm my booking. I spoke to another manager, Kirstie who assured me both times that my booking was booked and I had nothing to worry about. <br>
On the night of our very special event I was confronted by another manager Vicky saying I cannot have the private room because the owners have decided to have a meeting in there. She blamed everything on Chris and mentioned he always does this and he was suppose to let me know my booking had been cancelled. I later checked my emails and found an email from Chris hours before my event to tell me the owners have decided to give the room to their regulars. Everyone was blaming each other. This is very unprofessional.<br>
In my 20 years in hospitality I have never witnessed such incompetence from any establishment.<br>
They wanted to offer us a seat outside and expected us to be happy with a free round of cocktails. Out of principle we left and spent our money elsewhere. <br>
No body ever tried to call me to let me know my booking for the private room was cancelled. <br>
A cancellation email hours before a booking of 10 people on a Saturday night is extreamely inconsiderate, unacceptable and unprofessional. I will never spend a cent in this establishment. <br>
It's a shame because this is a nice venue but the people who runs it are unprofessional."

"Omakase shimasu. I must say, this set up reminds me my experience in Osaka. Typical 5-8 setup, very warm and dedicated food experience that one can enjoy alone, or with small group. Guided by one of the best Sushi Chef Kazu. Funny and expert in his sushi creations. Each delicacy matched with flavoursome Sake that compliments each and every bite. 8pcs and then extended to 12pcs sushi bonanza. 3 different Sake. It was an experience for a King. The experience is not just the food. It’s like meeting an old friend you haven’t seen in years."

"A small jewel hidden on the first level with a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful indoor and outdoor areas. The menu felt more Japanese than Korean, but was delicious. The soft shell crab hand rolls were a unique highlight."
