"Arriving rather late at the christmas eve for coffee and cake, called in before checking on available tables and space ("we have lots of space") .. we then had been told by man in a suit that we are not really welcome by telling us very arrogant to use a table on the side. We should have left immediately but we really wanted to have some desert after our christmas dinner. Tragic continued as we not got served for another 20 minutes - be aware that several waiters standing around; ignoring us beside the restaurant was roughly half full.Anyway, the tragic continue even further as we ordered several dishes and one got missed (the cake which just had to be taken - 0 prep time). We had to ask twice and finally got it after everyone else was done with the desert!Pricing was okay but we left without giving any tip and we not consider to come again!"

"- Very nice looking building- Lovely service (the service was so friendly that we ordered another round of beers)- Good schnitzel- Also has a section where you can sit in a outdoorish :) section with fondue on the tables.- If you are looking for a place to watch sports this restaurant has 5-6 screens.If I go back to Zurich again I would definitely visit this place."

"17 Gaulti Millau points. third best restaurant according to Gault-Millau in zürich (issue 2017). that can only be good and that's it. we were already in many highly decorated locals. three to four times a year, we're just doing this. no longer has to be. then such celebrated menus would lose their charm. the menu in the be is probably one of the most unexcited what we have ever eaten in a Gault Millau restaurant. but that is absolutely not negatiw to understand. there are chefs with less points that produce more wow effects in their menus. that's also something really great. but that it goes without, surbeck knows to be in restaurant in zürich. his food comes almost already. but they are not. the Sardinian tomatoes run on the first appetizer to the high-form. with a deep-black garlic essence which is fermented in a whole month (!) at 80° in a lot. in spectacular detail. first class. a speciality of the house are the suppenaries, which are foamed with a frame blower, which is already in the glassy vegetables and poultry pieces. the sea on alga sauce brought the sea to the table. First, one fears that everything could become a bit too salty. and yes, the salt flavor is intense, but always in the green area. at the main course was the calfsnier item butterzart. the kartoffel cream really creamy. and also here were the details that will read an almost normal dish, to an experience. first class. surbeck’s menu shows the unexcited but first-class can be the kitchen in. A lot of joy also prepared us the small tasty dishes that were rich in between, where we were allowed to guess the tastes and ingredienzen. an exciting and entertaining interplay. we added the menu with a cheese variation before dessert. whether 24.- per teller is not a lot, everyone has to decide for themselves. the cheese were well chosen on all occasions and we enjoyed the white riesling auslese (pro glass also 24.-).Also at dessert we wipe from the surbeck menu and order the à-la-minute made vanillglace instead. an experience. first class. and the true highlight of the evening. for two people we paid a little more than 600.- francs. a lot? Yes, absolutely. two menus. 1 bottle of white wine. 2 apéro. cheese plate with matching wine. menu change at dessert. coffee to the close. that is not in line with the quality offered. we will also go back to next. the also available vegetarian menu sounded very promising and vegetarian eating at this level (what we have done elsewhere) this must also be a pleasure here."

"Title says it all. A bit pretentious for no good reason. Food was nothing special. Pasta was bland no flavor and not al dente. Veal scaloppine in lemon sauce was swimming in butter made me nauseous. The only saving grace was the espresso. Could be the best I ever had. Service was super slow. Had audacity to ask for tip even though there was already a service charge on the menu. I will NOT return"

"Luxe pas du tout ostentatoire, déco moderne dans un cadre fait de plafond et parois de bois sombre, on s'y sent tout de suite à l'aise, et le personnel vous conseille et vous écoute sans être envahissant. Très bonne viande , saumon sur le grill parfait, carte des vins impressionnante et champagne rosé servi bien frais, tout est réuni pour passer un très agréable moment ."

"The meat of Bärengasse is undoubtedly goodIs it exceptionally good ? Is it extraordinarily well cooked ?Is there any originality in the overall cuisine ?Is there anything awesome (sauces, fries, service...) ?No, no, no, no.Nothing you could do by yourself, buying a good meat and cooking it on your grill at home.But the prices are for sure extremely high. Add to that a highly crowded place which does not facilitate discussions...all in all, a place in which you do not feel that you really ger quality for money spent. Much better alternatives (e.g. August) exist in Zürich."

"A small cosy Restaurant runned by the owner himself. Italian kitchen at it's finest... Yet open also the backyard garden. But be aware the owner offers also a "grumpy old man full moon service" - you'll better learn italian quickly!!! Visit for the food, ask what's freshly made and enjoy the stay."
