"After consulting TripAdvisor and Yelp we trusted our gut and selected the Wintergarten located just on the southern end of the central riverfront cluster of establishments. As a result, we had one of the best meals of our week in Northern Europe. My daughter and...I were seated at an open window overlooking the Mosel, and after studying the menu (English version available), we both selected prixe fixe 3-course options. First courses were the warm goat cheese salad (Ziegenkase mit Honig und Thymian uberbacken auf Blattsalaten)—excellent—and a smoked fish with hot Spargel (white asparagus – very good). Main courses were the pork medallions in Riesling sauce (Cochemer Schweine-Medallions), which were expertly prepared. For desert, we shared Apfel Strudel and a chocolate lava-type cake with fresh raspberries. Our server was attentive but unobtrusive, somewhat formal, and very good. The price wasn't cheap: 84 euro with beer only, but we both felt the meal was worth the price. Highly recommended."

"This was a stop for lunch after we visited Burg Eltz and were craving kebab. It was not too busy, had a large selection, but only one staff member was working, so it took a very long time to order and get food. Our party of 5 got 4 diner kebab and 1 order of schnitzel with fries. The portions are large, but we waited awhile longer on a new schnitzel plate since there was a fly fried into the top of the original. It wasn't the worst ever, but I wouldn't return there either. Thee best kebab is still in Trier walkplatz."

"My wife and our friend visited this restaurant pretty much on our arrival in this quaint town. A long drive had us all eager to sample the local culinary delights. We chose this restaurant due to its fine views overlooking the Moselle and, at least...initially, the friendly welcome. Food was good if a little expensive but this is a tourist town and you pay accordingly. Indeed, the Flammkuchen was great and served on a wooden board. Drinks were good and service timely. All good so far until it came to the bill. Firstly, no issues with the bill cost wise, it is what i is. However, having just arrived we elected to pay by credit card. Our waiter pointed out that it was cash only! Something of a surprise this as most tourist establishments accept cards these days. Our friend’s off the cuff remark that she was surprised at not accepting cards met with a swift and rather surly response from our waiter who appeared agitated and was quick to point out that we were in Germany and not England or indeed, Holland! He quickly took the cash and left with not so much as a Danke! His attitude spoilt our first evening here and we shall not return. I suggest that there are far friendlier restaurants in the town and would urge that this one with its rude waiter be given a big, big MISS1"

"An interesting restaurant we visited during our last visit to Cochem. The woman of the house, the waitress, is unbeatable. Very nice and very accommodating. The dishes of our choice were also very delicious. Absolutely recommended, even if it takes a bit (but it is absolutely necessary for the fresh preparation)."

"Who wants to eat something else than pizza or spaghetti is here. Beef soup and calf liver with apple are simply delicious! The prices are absolutely ok and also the service."
