"Recently came here to have a cuppa, read the last chapter of my book and a bite to eat. What a gorgeous little place. Inside there is plenty of places to sit as well as a courtyard out the back. Food was very nice, coffee hot and was allowed to just do my own thing without being bothered.The chunky chips were delicious and a friend who dropped in proceeded to eat almost all of them. When I asked for extra sauce, it was delivered quickly and we weren't charged for it. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Parking is the usual you'd expect on Brunswick Street - observe time limits. Toilets clean. Staff are delightful"

"Cute little restaurant, ordered the stuffed crab with prawn which was very average, the salt and pepper chicken and green curry chicken with coconut rice were delicious! Service was also great too : would recommend! Was left quite satisfied."

"We were planning to go to the Rose Street market in Fitzroy on a Saturday morning and were walking towards our destination when we stumbled across Horse On Heels. The interior looked very inviting, and the smell of waffles coming out from the open kitchen was an opiate to our starved bodies. We ordered three waffles with two of them being sweet (Nutella-based) and one savoury (with a mushroom omelette and cherry tomatoes). They were delicious! My daughters wolfed down their shared waffle and we had to order another one! The lattes are pretty good quality too. We would definitely come back here!"

"We shared the pad Thai, duck curry and prawn chilli and basil stir fry. All excellent, all delicious and we needed doggy bags to take home the leftovers from the generous portions. A great visit, would love to return as there was a lot of...other dishes that I would like to try"

"This is the third time that I have been in this ice cream and I have no hesitation to say that eating is great. absolutely venerate their version of eggs benedict, which is crispy and sits on a bed of (3 hours slow-baked) kartoffel roesti instead...from toast and also has a pure of prickly birne through the hollandaise- incredibly stirred!"

"This is a very busy restaurant, with lots of people and lots of quirky Japanese paraphernalia all over the walls and ceilings. The menu was great fun, all the classic Japanese pub food and some substantial items as well and lot so of sashimi. There is also a great sake list, very extensive and I would recommend the sparkling sake for a first try if you have never had it before. The food came out promptly and was great value. We loved it and had lots of fun, the staff were also very helpful and knew their product. we look forward to coming to again. PS Make sure you book as it is very popular."

"After reading great reviews online, I suggested to a friend that we meet for dinner here. It was a cold, wet and windy Melbourne night and I was looking forward to some Italian food, especially because I hadn't had 'proper' Italian for a long time. The service was very friendly and efficient. There was a nice cosy atmosphere, with only a handful of tables inside and attentive, happy staff. We ordered a nice New Zealand sauvignon blanc to start, and decided to order the rice balls as an entree. Three decent sized portions arrived. They had porcini mushroom and taleggio inside. They were tasty, warm and comforting. Lots of flavour too. We each had the beef/pork bolognese, which was quite a decent serving. Unfortunately I found that it didn't come out very hot and because we were talking while eating, it was almost cold when I was still eating it. The size was quite a decent size considering it wasn't technically a 'main'. I decided to try a dessert too, so we shared the chocolate fondant and also had tea/coffee. This was absolutely divine! And once again perfect for a cold miserable night. Warm chocolate sauce oozed out of it when it was cut, and it was perfect with the vanilla ice cream and strawberries on the side.I'd recommend this spot for a cosy intimate dinner. I'd also recommend making a booking as it isn't a huge place. The staff work really hard and genuinely care about your experience. Worth giving a tip and a thank you at the end!!"
