"After a hiking afternoon along the berner solothurnbahn I stopped in jegenstorf for dinner, since gasthof zum löwen is listed in a Swiss gourmet guide. a few steps from the train station you can not miss the impressive and beautiful red colored house. the dining room is...kozy, but rather small, therefore recommended pre-booking. the staff can no longer be restricted: the owners did the service themselves! friendly, attentive, efficient throughout the meal. the menu offers both traditional Swiss and summer light dishes with focus on local products and suppliers. as an appetizer I had a refreshing gazpacho delicious and full of taste. the main course was really a highlight: embellished kalbsleber with rösti. in general and tasty, the leber was perfectly groomed in crumbs and balsamico vinegar. I finished the meal with a refreshing strawberry parrot. at CHF75, the bill remains at the standard Swiss level. Overall a really enjoyable dinner."
