"Read the reviews and so went to try it out and we weren’t disappointed. Great choice of food: we couldn’t understand much of the French and so the front of house man explained most of it to us. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great. The reviews stated vegetarian friendly and it is! I had a delicious pasta and legumes dish. We shared a platter to start with, all had drinks and a main meal: the bill was very reasonable. We left, feeling absolutely stuffed. Will visit here again this stay!"

"Adresse déjà testée pour dîner , là c'était juste pour boire 1 bière, la dernière fois la serveuse nous avait gentiment accueilli... Mais, ce soir c'est l'accueil avec la TRONCHE du patron, qui me dit : c'est un restaurant ici, je lui dit oui mais la dernière fois, boire un verre, il n'y avait aucun souci sur les tables hautes...Je lui dis qu'on peut partir... Il a daigné nous recevoir... Donc, c'est fini pour cette adresse qui se veut cool, mais l'accueil de ce commerçant, enfin si on peut l'appeler comme ça, est DÉPLORABLE... VIVE LE CAVO sur la même place, à éviter absolument..."

"We were looking for a good lunch before getting on a flight back to the UK from the airport, and – from the map – Carnon looked like a good place to find some good food by the coast. This is not a review of the Carnon location, but the town has certainly seen better days. It's not what you might call an up market marina. Nevertheless, there are a lot of restaurants along the strip by the harbour. most are semi permanent structures with canvas walls designed to be raised when the weather is not cold and stormy. We visited on a cold, stormy Sunday lunchtime. Most restaurants were empty, except for La Traine. They had carefully brought all their guests into one smaller room, so it looked more crowded, but they found us a space very quickly. We looked at the menu and at the other diners. Pretty much everyone was eating the house speciality: Catigot aux gambas. Mostly, the diners were locals maybe retirement folk. We figured they know good value when they see it, so we did as the locals did and ordered a double portion (Eur 25/head to eat in... Eur15 to carry out) and a bottle of rose, because that is what most of ther other diners were on. The Catigot is a metal dish filled with potato cubes, huge amounts of fish, a few mini squid, a couple of large prawns per person and a few mussels, all drenched in a sauce of eggs and cream and cooked so that the sauce thickens a bit. It's filling, generous portions and warming on a cold day. Definitely not fine dining or haute cuisine, but decent value comfort food. Most people seemed to take a doggie bag away with their uneaten portions. The meal included a dessert, not that you really need it after that size of main course, but I had a couple of scoops of framboise sorbet, which was very good. Staff worked very hard and were pleasant and attentive. Overall, we were pleased with the choice, though it was not quite when we had expected. I'm not sure we'd ever go back to Carnon, but if we did, would quite happily return to La Traine"

"Restaurant qui a accepté de nous accueillir à 14h00 pour déjeuner et sans supplément de prix, pratique qu'en on vient juste d'arriver.Les plats sont corrects et suffisamment copieux. Permet de manger pour pas très cher.Plutôt bon, rien de spécial à dire."

"Sunday lunch with friends. Place looked good so we went in. All four of us chose a set menu and it all started so well with a lovely seafood starter. The main however was a real disappointment. Caubillard, over cooked and under seasoned, served on some cold, watery French beans, some bulots and a slice of baked potato. In their favor though was the concern they showed for our dissatisfaction. They offered us some extra wine 'on the house' and were most apologetic.Puts were fine. House wine agreeable. Would go back though just to see if we were unlucky on the day!"
