"I used to live in Vancouver till 2003 and knew about this place but never went. Now back for a 10 days visit, I decided to visit with my close friend Claude on my first night. Made reservation with Christopher 2 weeks before. He is actually the owner. He welcome us at 6pm and assigned us a nice table for 2. He checked our ID’s and vaccine passports. The place was already busy and at the peak had 35-40 guests. Melanie was our server. Christopher is also a server. She has been there for 6 years. She explained the dishes of the day and was very professional and friendly. We started with German beers, then ordered the escargots $12.95 with artisan bread basket $4. Delicious! Claude could have had more garlic in it. He had jager schnitzel and I ordered the classic Wiener schnitzel. His mushroom sauce was on the side and I took some for my spaetzle . We ordered the half a litre of red. No disappointment there. We ordered another glass of red instead of dessert . A wonderful evening! Will return again with my Bavarian friend Ditmar."

"Loved my dinner! It was their special and it was definitely special! The Cod, prawns, and scallops were fresh and excellently prepared in a light curry sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner paired either Oyster Bay sauvignon blanc."

"Loved this place the food was really good. We went early so we did not have to wait too long and crowds were not too bad. But while you are waiting you can go take in the sites of the water. The place is really cute and bright in comparison to other places. We enjoyed a bike ride after to work off breakfast!"

"We live right next door to this place. They have a simple menu, they aren't trying to reinvent the wheel here. The burgers including the cod and salmon ones are scrumptious. They make everything fresh. The ahi tuna dish is a big serving, I don't really like the sauce so I just get them to grill it with salt and pepper because it's great quality tuna and doesn't need to be all dressed up. There seems to be something for everyone on the menu. Prices are reasonable in comparison to other area eateries. We enjoy spending time with Seth at the bar, sometimes we just pop over for a glass of vino and a draft, shoot the breeze a little. We enjoy having this addition to the neighbourhood and we feel really at home when we pop in to grab a bite or just a couple of drinks. Easy going neighbourhood eatery, exactly what we needed right next door."

"The District is just another wonderful place to eat in a string of small restaurants that each perform at high levels. The server was very friendly and very attentive. Never had to wait for a beverage and really enjoyed the outdoor seating (the breeze is perfect this time of year). We will definitely return."
