"Stumbled across the beautiful, oasis of a restaurant while walking through a neighborhood in San Jose. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The plants and shade make it an enjoyable retreat from the sun and pavement. There is a school across the street and when the students got out it was nice to see them getting picked up and just generally being teens hanging out with their friends. Other than that it was quiet and slow on that block.With my meal I also got the juice of the day, it was pineapple, and it came in a HUGE mug. Yummy and refreshing. The food was not only tasty but was beautifully presented in keeping with their theme of Mariposas (butterflies)."

"This enchanted place seems to be a secret of the area. It is one of those non pretentious places where food, drinks and service are superb. Although no famous chef is involved in this project, you'll get the feeling that there is one behind the scene.... technique, and creativity merge to create traditional Mexican food with friendly sophistication. The ambiance is elegant but relaxed, not noisy and seems like a lot of residents are friends of the place. I had the best tortilla soup I ever had, while my vegetarian dad had a fantastic chile en nogada ... Only few times I've seen his plate empty. My mom, a lobster lover, had a lobster cake that we both felt in love with. I was also surprised with a long and a special wine list that includes considerable gems for wine connoisseurs. I missed the fried oysters that I heard are a must... I will return for those."

"Only by chance we stopped in la panga at our first night in san jose del cabo. the restaurant itself is beautiful with its mandel trees that grow in the middle. beautiful garden like the location. the waiting staff was very attentive; but. the best part was the fresh fish and cocosmilk whip. that was amazing! sweet, but sharp. every bite was loaded with taste. absolutely the best whip ever!"

"We ended up eating here our first night in San Jose del Cabo because they were the only place open. Lucky for us!! The fool was delicious. My husband had a chicken quesadilla and I had the catch of the day tacos, which were delicious sea bass. The food was really good, and the service (Alex) was amazing. The chips and salsa before dinner were also excellent; in addition to the regular red and green salsas, we were served jalapenos with a sweet Asian edge (I think he said teriyaki) and a garlic mayo sauce. Mixing the jalapenos and mayo on a chip was excellent. We will definitely be going back. They don't serve alcohol; it may be due to their proximity to a school? The food exceeded our expectations and we will be back before our vacation is over."

"Just didn't live up to expectations. Another reviewer said it well - the menu just didn't hang together. Some tastes were good but most were rather un-inspired. The steak was downright tough and dry. PS: And Flora Farms doesn't charge $5 per guest for a glass of water."
