"In the main street Charles de Gaulle pedestrian square with all other restaurants still some tKim's manages to be a bit different....not least the name that probably won't meet! We enjoyed the more personal and friendly service and ate here twice. The staff really seemed to be busy with the customers and we saw how they manage bored children very effectively. The menu was standard Fayre, similar to many other restaurants and we enjoyed both our meals so no discomfort. Worth a visit."

"I always find myself despairing a bit when at a seaside place with restaurants lined up shoulder-to-shoulder. At Valras-Plage, the main hub is a pedestrianised wide street/small square leading up from the beach, with exactly that lay-out. Le Sud is first one from the beach, didn't seem to charge extra for this location, and had seafood cassoulet on the menu - and we had been desperately trying to find a place serving cassoulet all week.As it were, the cassoulet was the only disappointment to our visit - seafood was OK, but the cassoulet part was just a very thick, creamy sauce with no depth of flavour. However, the fish soup also sampled among the starters was good. No complaints about the mains either, with the seafood platters containing a massive selection of fairly fresh fish, crusteceans etc. My beef steak was also fine, well cooked and served with perfectly crispy fries. Service was attentive and appeared genuinely interested, rather than the either intrusive or disinterested attitude you too often experience at touristy places."

"We have just been on a weeks trip to the Languedoc with myself the other half and two boys aged 11 and 13. I am leaving a number of reviews of where we ate and stayed and hope you find them useful.Valras Plage has a weekly market which we visited. It is rather large, very busy and mostly rubbish with just a few authentic food stalls. I would give this a miss unless you like looking at tat and having your feet stamped on.The beach itself at Valras is probably the best in the region. Nice long clean beach, not too busy with facilities for the kids (eg swings, zip lines) and a bar for the adults.We spent the early morning in the market and a couple of hours on th beach and then ready for lunch. The restaurant Miramar is situated on the main road overlooking the beach and has an outside terrace. It is part of the Hotel Miramar which is of four star quality. The restaurant itself is very relaxed and informal and a great place to people watch or just simply enjoy the spectacular Mediterrannean view.We all had the luinchtime set menu at 18Euro which was of exceptional quality. Carpaccio of Tuna followed by grilled Brill. Stick to the fish, my eldest tried the Belly Pork which was a big Flop!A nice bottle of Languedoc white at less than 20 Euro making lunch for 4 at c 100euro.Best place in Valras and probably best resort based restaurant in the area."

"Accueil gentil...carte sympathique. ..service courtois et rapide...nous avons pris un croustillant de saumon et un magret...le croustillant est correct bien que pas très copieux...et le magret(entièr et rosé) est correct aussi mais pas assez chaud (donc retour en cuisine) et la cuisson peut mieux faire ..mention bien pour le vin..(de Sérignan)Voilà rien d'exceptionnel mais très correct...il suffirait d'un rien pour vraiment séduire. ..donc à confirmer...à l'occasion. ..en ce qui concerne le tarif,on est dans la moyenne..."
