Gonzales market is the best! Brisket is competitive quality! The staff is friendly and if you want to talk about how they want to prepare and shorten their meat, the owner will sit down and talk about it all day. He is very honest and passionate about barbecue. This is the best kept bbq secret around. If you drive between Houston and San Antonio, it is definitely worth eating the departure (about 15 miles south of IH 10) in this beautiful facility."

"Fantastic bbq! Brisket brilliant, sausage brilliant. Didn't even try the sauce. It doesn't take it, but I bet the sauce is good. Pages, potato salad good, Mac N cheese good, red beans good. Price is also fantastic, $12 for two meat plates with two sides! Iced tea freshly brewed delicious. I'm very picky about bbq, but that'll be a regular one. I came back to bring brisket, ribs and sausage home."
