What are the top rated restaurants in HIGHWOOD where I can eat Sausage?

"My last review was seven years ago so here 's my update. This place has not changed in the many years I 've been coming here. The crowds may be down a tiny bit but sitting in the bar area in either a booth or at the bar is the place to be, not the dining room at the other end of the restaurant IMO. This time we sat at the bar and had wonderful service from the very attentive bartenders. When you sit at the bar and have dinner at the bar, their policy is that you 'll order drinks from the bartenders but not any food. The bartenders will summon a server to take your food orders. You will have two tabs to pay. I little quirky I suppose but it works for them. Our dinner server was a little crabby but you don 't really see them, just when you order and then pay, food runners bring out the meals and drinks come from the bartenders. On this visit I had a blackened Walleye with a baked potato and minestrone soup. It was great, and I was very happy that I tried something other than the super thin pizza that I love here. We also had the grilled calamari off the appetizer menu, it was large enough for a meal and next time I 'm here I 'm going to get it with my pizza. We also tried the Monkeybags Pasta with Mariana sauce that I would not recommend. They were tiny pasta pockets stuffed with parmesan, ricotta, asiago, mozzarella and fontanelle cheeses. Sounded good but was blah. Other goodies are the bbq ribs, chicken,salads, burgers and more. They cover it all here. Another good thing here is their parking lot, since street parking can fill up fast. Don 't think you can leave your car here and walk the streets after dinner they have a 'guy ' monitoring the lot."

"We were traveling through Highwood returning south from a baseball tournament in Havre. We wanted to meet up with a friend who just moved to the area. He suggested Elmo's Highwood Bar. We walked in and no one was there, but Sherry and a gentleman at the bar. They were friendly and place was clean and comfortable. She gave us internet password so we could reach our friend as cell service is poor in the area. In meantime, another baseball family saw our car and stopped. Sherry accommodated all of us as we came and went and was so pleasant and helpful. The food was great! Kids with grilled cheese, mini pizza and multiple Shirley temple requests. Adults had burgers, BLT, adult grilled cheese (with bacon). Side green salad and macaroni salads were great (macaroni salad was indeed especially good with secret sauce and not too heavy). By the time we left, the bar filled in and the conversation between locals and those of us passing through was like one big open room of friendly people learning about each other. We all took a gamble at the Shake a Day and were feeling content with meal and entire experience. The Highwood community clearly is made up of special, hard working, friendly people. Elmos is the kind of place I will plan in to our travels now. We look forward to steak night some time!"
