"Ok, first off, I was having a really hard time coming up with a location that was situated in a good middle area between Vancouver and South Delta to have my birthday get together. All of my friends and their locations vary and Richmond seemed to be the perfect midpoint. This is when CHOP came to mind since it's near the highway and Skytrain and of course lots of available free parking!I had been at CHOP before but only their lounge area but never their dining section and couldn't recall much about how good their food was. Anyway, I loved their atmosphere and interior design of this place and took a chance. I used Open Table to make the reservation online and it was pretty fast and easy actually. As it got closer to the birthday dinner date I called in to confirm and to ensure the number of guests, which had grown to a larger number, was ok to reserve and that they had a large semi-private area available for me. I spoke with one of the managers at the time and he was super pleasant to talk to and very helpful, he even suggested I pass by one evening to check out the space and see where I would be sitting with my guests, so I did. I walked into the lounge, not knowing there was a dining area, a very friendly hostess assisted me and as I explained to her my past conversation with the manager she knew who I was and were to take me. My partner and I then got walked over to the dining side of the restaurant which was even more elegant and lovely (in my opinion) and got introduced to the manager working that night. He was very friendly from the start and super accommodating, gave us a tour of the entire restaurant and all the private rooms. As we talked and discussed my ideas, he made notes on his tablet and made sure certain things were added or changed right there on the spot, to better accommodate my planned evening. I found this to be top notch service and was now very excited for my birthday night to come. Needless to say, my birthday evening was fantastic, the servers, waiters, and staff were all very friendly and great with my guests. I absolutely loved the area that was reserved for me and my entourage, it was the perfect setting for what I asked and required of them. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing and could not believe the many yummy dishes to pick from, great culinary variety and very authentic drinks. The one and only thing that bothered me that night is that it did get pretty warm in the area where we all sat, between the drinks and number of people I should have asked if their AC was on or could be turned a bit to cool down that area, we all were pretty hot and it was a pretty hot summer evening as is.Overall, I am very happy I went with my gut and chose CHOP for my special night, which went from a very impromptu whatever birthday dinner to such a fun an amazing dinner party that exceeded me and my guests' expectations.Looking forward to going to CHOP again soon and fully recommend it to anyone! :)"
