"New chef and direction makes this place well worth trying - Now operating under the new name of Restaurant "La Vinaigrerie" it's offerings are a far cry from the past.We read the previous review and were not surprisingly put off by them but a Barging website and review advised that a new chef had taken on the restaurant since March and so we gave it a try. The menu while small offered interesting and different choices from the run of the mill French menus. We both chose the scallops entrée which was well prepared, well presented and quite delicious. Mains also the same were of the fillet of beef layered with fois gras poele, with celery puree, a pleasant change from standard mash or the omnipresent fries! There's also a great duck dish on the menu but alas was not available the night we dined. Service was prompt, polite and discreet but also very friendly. The wine list also small but has a nice selection of reds and whites to suit most palettes and budgets. I finished with the crème brulee, served cold with home made strawberry ice cream...both excellent. At 29 euros for 2 courses or 35 for three it's not cheap eats but the food quality makes it reasonable value. Would we return for dinner again? Absolutely ....Give it a try."
