"Our last visit to Sugarbeet was just exceptional! As you can tell by the photos, we couldn't wait to dive in before we remembered we should grab a pic for review. Our cocktails, as usual, we're amazing. I really adore the homemade bread they serve, it is warm, cheewy, flavorful and definitely worth the carbs! We had an interesting take on calamari, It was sous vide and stuffed with delicious little sauteed veggies and then plated with squid ink, really inventive. The star of the night for me was the sea bass which was cooked to perfection and served in a delicious broth, delicately seasoned with saffron, and contained (I think), mung beans. One wouldn't think that this combination would be as delicious as the ultimate dish really was, but I will long for this dish during cold winter date nights for a couple of years to come. My fiance had lamb chops, which were cooked perfectly to medium rare. The whole experience lovely, every bite delicious. Sugarbeet is definitely one of our favorite go-tos in the area, I highly recommend."

"So this location was previously (for years) Sushi Kaiten. Unfortunately, the chef and owner retired and sold the spot. Fortunately, it was taken over by a great group of people. It is mainly thai food but they have elected to keep the conveyor belt and sushi. John (the previous owner) provided his recipes so they could continue to make the sushi the way we all have enjoyed for years. It is new as of April 2017 and the sushi menu isn't up and running just yet. All that being said, I have gone twice and I have to say that this is the best thai food in Longmont. I highly recommend the fried tofu appetizer with peanut sauce and the chicken See-Ew. I will miss Sushi Kaiten and anxiously wait to see how the sushi holds up but I am willing to give this place 5 stars as of now."

"My husband ordered 4 live lobsters about 10 days in advance of my birthday. When he went to pick them up, the store was closed. He had not been told they were closed on Mondays, even though he had requested to pick them up on 12/27/2021. He called the number on the door and had to wait for the owner (employee? to show up.When she got there, she brought the box of lobsters out (not in a tank , and 3 of the 4 were DEAD. One was barely alive. I did not have lobsters for my birthday.Unacceptable!"
