"My wife I went to Lima to celebrate her father 's 90th birthday. All 12 of his sons daughters also were there, along with a total of 50 people. This was a venue that one of the daughters, Gladys, picked out for the celebration. The food was served buffet style with 2 major stations on each side. One more for the main entrees, the other more for appetizers salads. There was a band playing latin music in the corner perched up about 6 feet off the ground. The only negative was it was kinda open air with no A/C, although they did have fans in each corner working. At first, it was OK, but it did get warm in there on this 82 degree day, but not stifling ... The Food was very typical Peruvian cuisine, lots of Ceviche, chicken,fish, fabulous rice, some beef...really quite good for buffet style. We arrived at 1:30 to start eating and The show started around 2 PM. There were several singers, numerous dancers, including ones that represented traditional Peruvian cultures ...it was outstanding!! After the show, the band started playing more modern Latino music. Many of us had been drinking Pisco Sours, a Peruvian drink made from Pisco, a strong liquor. There were 2 gringos there, myself my brother-in-law, Daniel, and after 5-6 Pisco Sours, we were dancing on the dance floor along with my Peruvian sister-in-laws, nieces, etc...it was a great, festive way to celebrate my father-in-law 's 90th birthday...cost was about 28 pp in US that included buffet, show, one Pisco Sour or beverage.If you 're looking for a nice way to have lunch or dinner there are shows food in both afternoon night), El Casacajal Restaurante is a nice way to do it!!"

"We arrived at 2pm for the famous seafood experience. We were quoted a one hour wait time, but were seated within 45 mins for a party of three. The ambience is amazing, with all covered outside seating in a rustic environment. It was a chilly spring day, but heaters were available to all. We ordered one of everything seafood on the menu. The grilled octopus served similar to a fajita was the highlight. Ceviches were great, as well as the crab causa. Has rating for a reason, but this is excellent Peruvian food. A must visit. And check out the pix.....look who I met and shook hands with during my Sep 23 visit."

"Amazing food. Yes; quite pricey for Lima but you will not be disappointed. The only thing we didn’t care for was the cooked fish our waiter recommended. I wish we hadn’t order that. The appetizers were dekiscious and the makis are out of this world....Service was top Notch as well."

"La Marquesa is incredible! It is a well known culinary fact that Peru has the best cuisine in the world- So to have the best tasting Peruvian seafood in the country is quite the accomplishment! You can't go wrong with any of their amazing dishes but my favorite dish at La Marquesa would have to be the 'Pulpo al a Parriya" sooooo delicious, I daydream about returning to Lima just to taste it again haha!! The restaurant itself is perfectly located-close to the beach and all the best areas-it's vibrant in its decor and has a super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend it!!"

"My culinary experience in Lima has been great so far and I have expected new restaurants I try. Unfortunately, my first Japanese meal in Lima lacked the “Wow” factor. I ordered tuna sashimi and the spicy scallops sushi to begin... and the rams as my main course; and, both were disappointing. I didn't expect Tokyo, but maybe a bit near New York Japanese restaurants / Ramen houses?"
