"We had fish and chips at the Chip Box Furness Vale last night as we passed from Haddon Hall to Cheshire; it was delicious and the staff were lovely. My wife had the last piece of cod and I had scampi. The lady apologised that she had charged me for a large, but it was a regular and she refunded the difference such integrity. But the important thing was the quality. We have fish and chips from Caernarfon to Nottingham while we tour, and you won’t find any better than here. Well done and we look forward to returning."

"We recently went for a Sunday dinner after reading the good reviews. we were disappointed by the quality of food. the yorkshire pudding was like nothing I've ever seen - hard, much too much flour and more like an overcrowded dumpling. the rest of the...Meal was average. the eating was unfortunately strong for the rest of the day. not comparable to the lamb inn or the old hall, the oddfellows etc. the personal was friendly."
