"We stayed overnight in our camper in their car park with the caveat that we have a meal in the pub. Very glad we did as this is possibly the most hospitable pub and the most friendly staff I have come across. This coupled with brilliant food and drink made it a perfect overnight stay. We only live 35 minutes away but I think we will be making this a regular stop over just to get away for a night or two. "Not that great; not terrible either. I’d like to give them another chance sometime.We went at 2:30 on a Thursday, so the place was dead. Staff was friendly and didn’t keep us waiting at the door for someone to notice us. So we were immediately happy with that.Our server didn’t put in our appetizer order so we had to ask about it when the meals came out. Mac n cheese from the kids menu was dry and caked together and my chicken zingers were cold and soggy. Clearly they were done first and sat in the window. Initially, I declined a fresh order, but then changed my mind when I tasted the cold chicken. (Ok, not like refrigerated, but absolutely room temp. Colder than the 98.6 degrees of my mouth. Not enjoyable.)Second order of chicken was reverse-blowing, lava hot, which was delightful. The crunchiness only lasted for the first bites, though. By the time I was done with the second of my seven pieces, everything was soggy. There was just way too much sauce on them. Annnnnnnd, whatever sauce was on the first plate they brought out was not the same as the second plate that reached the table. This was my first time eating here, so I have no idea what the first one was. (Maybe sweet Thai chili?)Fries were great. Hot, crispy, well-seasoned. We all loved them. Same for the fried jalapeños. I’d definitely order those again.I’ve been a server, so I get it. I always struggled when I had fewer tables. It’s hard to find your rhythm, you lose track of time because there’s no need to hustle…So I don’t want to trash talk this place after just this one experience. I had a tough time deciding what to order because there were lots of good looking options. I’ll also go at a busier time of day and see if that changes things.One more thing, the table we had was sticky. It’s not because it wasn’t wiped down. The finish on the table had gone from glossy to tacky. It was a gross feeling, even though we knew it had nothing to do with cleanliness. I’m sure ours wasn’t the only one. They should look into refinishing those table tops or at least deep cleaning and scraping the years of debris and accumulated gunk and residue. Might be an idea for some side work on a slow Thursday afternoon sometime in the near future…?"

"Outstanding server, but the lobster bisque was unfortunately lacking a little. Not sure if they changed the recipe but it's usually my go to and it wasn't quite the same. As always the biscuits were awesome and my main entre was loaded with lobster I think it was lobster Alfredo or something like that. I will always go back just may not get the bisque again. "We drove from Middletown, DE to Lancaster for an appt and were quite hungry. My Smile Direct Guide recommended PCD and said the place was amazing and the portions were very generous. From the Bronx, the gold standard of the diners for me is The Royal Coach Diner and armed with this determination, moved into the parking lot in Park City Diner I had the place the side eye. When we parked, we noticed how ppl was quite hastened to come to the place that was a good sign. We came and sat in no time. It recalled The Royal Coach from the curtains to the display of cakes. I was home! We were then met with what we now call a, Super Server! ... Maddie!!! She was not only friendly and personal, but very present at the moment. My son commented that she felt like you were the only customers she had, although she had several other tables to tend. This is Maddie with the personal touch. She took our order and was attentive to any request. Our food was delicious and the portions are generous. I ordered an omelette with local fries and my son had the catfish. He was a little disappointed that the grottos were not on the menu, but still shaved over his food. We enjoyed our meal and plan to bring back the family, and if we do, we want our Super Server... Maddie!"

"While out walking the Capernwray and the River Keer walk, which passes Pine Lake, we decided to pop in for a quick refreshment. Plenty of seating options available both inside and outside, however as it was a beautiful day, we opted to sit outside and take in their views over the lake. Friendly and welcoming staff in the bar, with a good range of drinks available at competitive prices. Beautiful quiet setting with stunning views."

"Arrived after check the site which said no wait! Waited 15 mins! Ask how many said 4 1 high chair! Put us at a booth right beside entrance to kitchen and was ask if need a booster? REALLY !! Lady got an attitude and went and changed us to another table then let us stand there holding the baby till the waitress got us a high chair!! Waitress was the only saving grace . Even the Kitchen couldn’t get it right. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce got marinara!(portion size was small) Wife’s ziti was a huge portion.Adult meals came out 10 mins before the kids meals? Kids got just as much spaghetti as I did . When the manager brought them he did apologize for all the mistakes.and walked away without even offering to take anything off the bill. Hell a free $6 take home meal would have been better then nothing."
