"Spent a night in Caloundra and ended up having a few drinks at this location. We were having a lovely afternoon until we decided to order a 'snack' and I was told by the friendly chefs to order at the bar. Bar staff told me it was time to order and I questioned what I had been told - got a rude response. Not long later the snacks I asked for arrived at the table and I was promptly and rudely told 'sorry, if you want to pay for them you can have them'. I paid and we enjoyed the garlic bread and spring rolls.An hour later we ordered dinner and after we had eaten my partner, who is an emergency services shift worker who had come shift, went to the bar to order another round of drinks and he was denied drinks for 'being too intoxicated' because someone didn't like his sense of humour. Really!!The manager came to see us and brought his security guard, really, and when we explained the situation he said he could not go against his bar staff decision. Really!!We were in no way being loud, rowdy, obnoxious, stumbling around or intoxicated otherwise we would have been asked to leave before ordering meals. A real spoiler to a lovely afternoon of relaxation. Won't be back!"

"We ordered a takeaway family pizza it was an amazing size and baptizing of toppings as well as good basic and well cooked, also we had added carbonara with huhn, the servier was a great size with big aromen in any case again."

"This unpretentious Thai restaurant tucked away in the little shopping centre on Parklands Boulevard produces consistently delicious, fresh, tasty meals for lunch and dinner. We are fortunate enough to live nearby and have never been disappointed with our meals. The service is exceptional - Sum and Michael and their staff go out of their way to ensure that there is a warm greeting when you arrive and that attention to detail continues throughout your meal without being over-bearing.Serving sizes are generous and the menu includes blackboard specials which change regularly. My husband chose the Pork Belly from the specials menu last night which was declared absolutely delicious with the perfect amount of heat. Vegetarian tastes are well catered for and I enjoyed a superb stir fry with delicious, fresh, seasonal veggies as well as tofu (optional) and a good amount of chilli. The coconut rice was gorgeous and made a lovely change from our usual selection of steamed jasmin rice. We also enjoyed starters of curry puffs and spring rolls, both of which are made on the premises.Whatever your choice, authentic curries, soups, stir fries, noodle dishes, Thai salads or specials from the board, I'm sure you will find that your taste buds will be singing by the time you leave.Sum Thai is BYO, with a good selection of soft drinks available and a Bottle Shop just a few doors away. They also do take away meals and throughout the evening there is a steady stream of customers collecting meals, but I am glad to say that this doesn't affect the quality of service offered to those dining in. Highly recommended."
