"Da Alberto was recommended by our excellent Segway tour guide, and we came for lunch. The kids were getting tired of schnitzel, so pizza seemed like a good change of pace.Given that there were four of us, that we hungry but not famished, and that we had never tried pizza at Ristorante Da Alberto, we thought we'd split a couple of pizzas and see what we liked best.It was made painfully clear, over minutes of discussion, that sharing a pizza is not allowed. If you get the food to take away, fine. (I got the impression that if they could figure out how to disallow that as well, they would.) Sharing in the restaurant, or at the sidewalk tables where we were, was strictly forbidden.I imagine this is so the restaurant makes more money, which is fine, but the whole thing left me a bit irked.In any case, we tried the Margherita pizza, and the Mario's, which has ham, salami, and peppers. Both kinds were good. I know because I tried some pizza that someone else had ordered. Thank goodness I didn't get caught.If you want some decent pizza, Da Alberto is fine. Their strict NO SHARING policy is a bit over the top."

"Full disclosure: this is a family run restaurant we have eaten at many, many times during our visits to Salzburg and we have become good friends with the family. I also speak German fluently and this is a very local restaurant, so English is limited. BUT: if you want a neighborhood experience that includes good basic Austrian food, and you are adventuresome, give this place a try and tell them "Professor Thomas" sent you. The 93 year old matriarch is Frau Kaiser, the daughter is Karin. In good weather you can sit in the garden; otherwise, you may have to deal with some smoke, since Austria has not yet seen the wisdom of banning smoking indoors. On our recent visit (small lunch) we had a sausage with fries, a salad (ample), and a liter of wine for 24 Euro (ca $33). Dinner portions are large; try one of their Schnitzel.As I say, perhaps not to everybody's taste, but something off the beaten track."

"L'ambiente é curato e in stile tipico locale. Se si é fortunati si ha la possibilitá di assistere a un'esibizione di musicisti che suonano musiche austriache. Il servizio é efficiente. Ultimo ma non ultimo, il cibo é anch'esso tradizionale e gustoso: in particolare noi abbiamo mangiato una ottima wienerschnitzel e una saporitissima scaloppina al sugo di cipolle con gnocco di pane. Il prezzo è onesto. Da provare! ;P"

"Angenehmes, typisch österreichisches und nettes Gasthaus am Stadtrand. Hier wird österreichisch gekocht, am Nebentisch Karten gespielt, hier treffen sich Einheimisch und Arbeiter. Sehr gute Küche, die Chefin berät freundlich und kompetent über das Essen (sie ist selbst Jägerin und hat Ahnung von Metzgerei). Das Lokal hat mit die besten Pommes der Stadt! Sehr schöner Gastgarten, verkehrsgünstig gelegen. Wer weg vom Trubel sein will und trotzdem gemütlich sitzen möchte ist hier richtig.Empfehlung: Wiener Schnitzel."

"Recommended by the proprietor at Hotel Turnerwirt, this little restaurant did not disappoint. They have a variety of Italian and other European specialties. Their Salzburger schnitzel was really excellent, the entrecôte was not overcooked, and the spaghetti carbonara was really nice too. The beer was good, all our desserts were delicious. It was not loud - you can actually have a conversation. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, and had great manners. All in all, quite a pleasant evening. Prices were reasonable; four adults and one child ate for about €100. Recommended!"
