"Durch mindere Speisenqualität aus dem miesbacher Hotel getrieben fanden wir ein paar Meter weiter den Schützenwirt, ein Vereinslokal des örtlichen Schützenvereines, aber für jedermann zugänglich. Der Wirt begrüßte uns mit unvergleichlichem Charme und Witz, was man heutzutage eher selten findet. Man fühlte sich direkt gut aufgehoben und umsorgt. Die Speisekarte bot hauptsächlich, früher sagte man, „jugoslawische“ Gerichte. Aber auch die Klassiker wie Schnitzel usw. waren vertreten.Unsere neun oder zehn a-la-Carte Essen kamen fast zeitgleich auf den Tisch, was ich bei einem Restaurant dieser Kategorie schon für eine Leistung halte. Größere Gaststätten haben da oft Probleme. Die Fleischqualität und das Abschmecken der Gerichte haben bis aufs I-Tüpfelchen gestimmt. Einfach nur lecker. Selbst der später gereichte Espresso war in Top-Qualität. Einmal im Monat wird Lamm und Spanferkel vom Holzkohlegrill angeboten. Das verführt beinahe dazu, die 500 Kilometer Anreise auf sich zu nehmen..............Preislich bewegen sich die Speisen auf erfreulich niedrigem Niveau, so dass auch meine Brieftasche sich nicht im geringsten beschweren konnte."
