"Looking for a dinner near Bad Goisern and we tried one place and it was full. We then did a quick Google Search for restaurants nearby and found Steegwirt. Had a wonderful meal, staff were very friendly, spoke excellent english and our family of 5...had a well priced, very well prepared meal. We were very surprised as we didn't even check reviews. Wife and daughter shared a meal which surprised them as the hot meal was accompanied by ice cream the taste sensation was unusual and they both commented upon how well the tasted went together. Two Wiener Schnitels and Cordon Bleu were each very tasty and well prepared. A nice surprise to find a place like this close to our accommodation. Recently rennovated and lovely ambience."

"This place is 5 stars! Chargrilled trout the best I ever had! Enjoyed 2 nights in a row. Goulash soup is good. Duck very well. Apfulstrudel with vanilla sauce good to round your meal. Beer perfect! Service unbeatable."

"Small, quiet and friendly, I stayed in Hallstatt for 4 days and even though the place is beautiful the restaurants were at best mediocre.......my last night here we were looking for somewhere to have a lovely meal to celebrate my partners birthday. Well this is...what I was looking for.....it's not fine dining it's not even that special but the place is spot on. The owner is a really friendly (English speaking) man and the cosy comfortable atmosphere is what I was looking for......it's pizza or pasta type of place but don't let that put you off. Set in a back street alleyway it's off the beaten path and just what we needed to unwind from a day taking in the sights. Wish we'd found this place sooner ."
