"Saturday's lunch time in cold and wet January and almost all restaurants were closed. We found this place on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. very busy and narrow probably due to the fact that so few places were closed. Despite this, the staff was polite and welcoming. we sat at the back of the restaurant with many other guests. We chose the menu of the day that was roasted pork."

"The restaurant is located near the main tourist attraction of the city (valentrée bridge), so if you get a table on the terrace you can enjoy an amazing view. the staff is very friendly, which add a lot to the place. the dishes are good quality and very good value. the daily menu is on and the more costly menu is on and they have the opportunity to go or advise for the courses: not to confuse the dessert. the chef is a former baker cook. I had an amazing and organismic « baba au rhum »"

"First dinner at the beginning of a 10 day trip to the Lot and Dordogne Valleys, and La Garenne remained a favorite, and that 's saying something given the consistent quality of meals we had throughout our travels. Gracious and welcoming service, and food that showcases...regionality, while not limiting itself to the immediate locale. Whichever direction you chose to go, this felt incredibility authentic and seasonal, and every dish delivered a melange of delightful flavors. I had the pork cheek with saveurs d 'orient to start, followed by the Dorade fish with the most perfectly seasoned ratatouille and sauce vierge. Whereas the former was warm and complex, the latter was light and uplifting, Reverse that for my wife, who started with shrimp tempura, followed by the fillet of beef. Again with great presentation, seasoning, and balanced flavor. Finish it all off with strawberries and pistachio cream for dessert, and you 've got yourself a proper ending to fabulous meal. "Terrasses Valentré is as its name might suggest, situated on the Lot with a view of Pont Valentré. We ate a good lunch here; a duck and pork sausage with potatoes and baked tomatoes which was very good followed by a truly excellent plate of...local cheese to share. There were only two dishes on the black board menu and apart from that there was a selection of tartines or salads. Service was very friendly. I suspect we'll return at some stage. It was a tranquil place to eat away from the town which was really busy."

"We discovered this restaurant by chance at the turn of Daurade Street. A very pleasant setting and a warm welcome. Very nice and smiling service! The meats and fish are of excellent quality, the cook is top cooks were perfect. Home fries to fall like sauces. And desserts full of generosity. A very reasonable price given the quality of the meal. No disappointment but nice surprises. It's worth a little patient, it was perfect. We'll be back with great pleasure!"

"This is a very traditional but simple French restaurant. we went to lunch. we had 5 courses as well as wine and coffee for each €14. it was exceptional value for money. they get what they get, so they don't go to a choice. our lunch included sweet. suppee, meat ham and a traditional sausage, spaghetti with duck in a sauce, cheese, strawberry cream."

"We know the chief's family, they told us to go, when we arrived at the stairs, he saw our two little yorkshire dogs and just told us. No dogs here. We live in this out and we can bring the dogs everywhere, so very disappointed. We love Chinese cuisine."
