"It was supposed to be my birthday celebration dinner. I’d told them this twice at booking my table. Most restaurants make a small gesture in response when there is a special occasion. But not here. After we waited for over an hour for our...mains -and these only arrived after a complaint- it was now so late and we were by now so hungry that we just ate up. We didn’t want to go through the same agony of waiting and so did not order dessert. It was an altogether disappointing evening. We were by now alone in the garden, around us not a single table had been cleared. It was a shambles and even the admittedly nicely cooked fish didn’t make up for it."
