"We kept delaying coming to this place due to so many events, yet we managed to finally come here on the last Saturday the offer for a 3 meal with drinks for £30 pp was valid not only this is a great offer, although I am not a big eater or drinker, but the staff deserves only top marks. The settings is made romantic with the help of great table clothing but also the fact that the big room is divided with the help of small book cases so that you have a bit of a privacy, with a further small room with a table for 4 being at the end. We were sat near the window towards the end and witnessed the sunset over the Thames and Big Ben and as I said my thanks go to the young girls from France and Spain who were so friendly and prompt in their response. I would suspect though the assumption is that people come here to stay a very long time as this was the longest dinner we ever had, well over 2 hours, when we could have been done in some 45min. From the set menu we ordered the mussels, then chicken for me and fish for my partner, plus winter berry cake for me, of which I was not fond though and trio of chocolates for my partner which looked rather good but too late for me to have it. Even the alcoholic drinks included in the offer was quickly replaced with a non alcoholic cocktail, which we both liked and due to the minor problem with my chicken (as the kitchen staff probably did not notice but horrified even the waitress as she could see it) they served us 2 more non alcoholic cocktails this proved the staff is very hands on. As I said, I am not a drinker or eater but I am always touched by great gestures as the staff displayed on this occasion. And probably we will be back: romantic, great staff, good offer what is not to like?"

"Kennington £5.40 Amstel A traditional Kennington pub complete with bedrooms and comedy club. . The Tommyfield is located on a busy intersection on Kennington Lane and Kennington Road and is just a five minute walk from Kennington Tube station. . At first glance at ground floor level, this pub looks contemporary in appearance but once you look up you can see how majestic the architecture is. If you look to the very top of the building you can see the pub’s original name, The White Hart. This pub is named after a nineteenth century market which was the home to Britain’s first fish and chip shop. . The decor here is simple but stylish. There are a few raised areas and a good size bar. There are lots of comfy sofas and chairs which make for a comfortable pub experience. . The beer choice is straightforward and full of familiar favourites. I had a pint of Amstel which was reasonably priced but was a bit flat. The lady who served was very nice and gave a warm welcome. The food menu is full of British classics with a good selection of hearty pies. For pub comparison purposes fish and chips costs £15 here, which is average London pub price. . I visited around 4pm on a Saturday afternoon and the pub was quiet. Apart from myself, there was a couple having a chat in one of the window seats and some guests checking in to stay at the six bedroomed hotel upstairs. This Kennington pub also hosts comedy nights by @alwaysbecomedy which showcases the best comedic talent around. Recent performers include Jack Whitehall, Joel Dommett and James Acaster. . There are lots of positives here at this multifaceted pub. The beer and food are reasonably priced and the comfortable surroundings make this pub a nice place to have a pint. .
