"Had a wonderful evening celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a warm welcome on arrival and escorted to our table with a complimentary glass of champagne. The food and the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Defiantly recommend this restaurant whether it's a soecial occasion or just a meal out with friends. "Here is Bank Holiday Monday on our canal holiday. The staff was very accommodating for us 9. A meal was wrong and the administration immediately refunded what was unexpected. Beautiful little traditional pub with a treasure of a garden! X"

"We were in Rugby for an event at Benn Hall and five of us met up for a few drinks and something to eat beforehand. Staff were friendly and welcoming and service was good. There's a wide menu with plenty of choice ranging from lite...bites to full meals. They were busy but we didn't have too long to wait for our food and it was piping hot,good sized portions and very tasty. It's a modern, attractive space to be in and we all agreed we enjoyed the hour and a half we spent there."

"The best part of the night was the jokes about how bad the food was in all honesty! Satay chicken was chewy and all the main meals were tasteless, photos of two separate meals which tasted identical (of nothing) I mentioned to a waitress i wasnt happy with my main… her reply was “okay” took my plate and walked off. When it came to paying i went over to the counter and quietly said to the owner i would like to pay please however i have not eaten my main, i did not enjoy it, it wasn’t very nice” he absolutely hit the roof, awful temper on him. He said “you cant do that its not fair”, “you should have chosen something you like” (pad thai noodles with chicken i chose, something i would 100% have liked if i could taste anything) “you are rude horrible lady” he literally announced in front of all his customers that i refused to pay! He got everyones attention and shouted “this lady not pay for food, everyone else pay for food but not her because she didnt like it” IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE RESTAURANT!” Then Continued to shout at me and was extremely angry. Thankfully i managed to hold my own, (when he allowed me to speak, just kept shouting over me) but not everyone would be been able to stand up for themselves, and not everyone would have been able to stay calm and talk calmly still. I suspect if i was a man he wouldnt have tried to argue it. But i’m just a women so he thought he could get away with it? That is how it felt! So what was me trying to discretely discuss my issues turned into the whole place knowing about it. I am 4 months pregnant and honestly it really upset me after it happened. i had to walk out of the restaurant to calm myself down. Making a pregnant women cry… well done! Top marks to the “manager” i Was so upset that he spoke to me like that! I still paid for the rest of mine and my partner’s meals. Which honestly nearly didnt after he spoke to me like that. Never in my life have i experienced an owner/manager of a restaurant arguing with me when i was not happy with the food! I hate complaining at the best of times, no one enjoys it surely. But i refuse to pay for food when i didnt eat it! Unfortunately i am not that rich that i can afford something that i didnt have. Honestly would never step foot in that place again. I dont think anyone who was there to witness it would either. The customers all quite quickly paid up and left after that! I agree with the other bad reviews… who on earth rated them 4 or 5 stars?! "

"Me and my husband went for Sunday lunch, well it was around 2pm when we arrived. By the time we got there both of us were quite hungry, so we ordered our mains I ordered a Dubliner burger and my husband had a roast beef, we also ordered some marinated olives to snack. So far so good! It all went downhill once the drinks arrived my cocktail summer berry mojito tasted like watered down soda with a strawberry, certainly no Bacardi was present and It wasn't a cheap cocktail. Just like the water I ordered our marinated olives never arrived. Around 14:45 our mains arrived. The roast beef was lovely needed a few more veggies and gravy but it was lovely, they brought out a wrong burger. It took another 15 to 20 minutes for the correct burger to be served, which once served was quite enjoyable. Why do I remember the timings so well? Well,we were pretty hungry when we got there, the starter/snack we asked for never arrived and I had to watch my husband eat his lunch while I was still awaiting mine. We didn't stay for dessert instead asked for the bill and went to have a dessert and coffee at Costa. The waitress was very apologetic about the whole thing, and only charged us for the food and not the drinks. Overall, food we were eventually served was ok, the service pretty bad and cocktails terrible. We didn't enjoy our lunch as much as we would have liked so we won't be going back!"
