"We had a 3 day ski trip to St Gervais, and we always like to search out the 'hidden'/out of the way mountain restaurants for lunch. We were thrilled to spot this tiny little restaurant from one of the chair lifts. The run in was off a blue La Raviere and it was a splendid ski in.We followed the instructions to leave our ski's in a 'certain' spot. And made out way to the restaurant, we found an outside table - it was a stunning day - and I went to order some drinks and look at the menu. I was greeted by a lady who said 'Bonjour, have you booked?' I was slightly taken aback, and responded 'No', she then pointed out that we could have a table and pointed over there. I spoke to my partner and we decided that the welcome was less than forthcoming and we were unhappy with the service so far. We asked for some drinks, and we were allowed to taken them outside. We drank up and left.The other notable factor which was disagreeable were the floor tiles; they were ceramic and walking on them in ski boots it was literally an ice rink.Whilst sitting outside we noted another few groups of people coming and not putting their skis in the designated spots and within seconds a staff member coming out and asking them to remove them. The ski out was great however. It is such a shame as it was a picture perfect spot, with an amazing ski in, and a delightful ski out. It had views to die for and the menu looked pretty great too.I've never really known to book a lunchtime mountain ski restaurant, maybe this is an exception to the rule - I just felt that it was a bit too pretentious for my liking. But go make you own mind up. If nothing else it is a great ski in and out - but don't forget TO BOOK!!!!"

"Beautiful food (amazing salads) served by the friendly family who own this mountain restaurant. Very different in the summer from the winter and equally worth visiting. It really is a gem and reasonably priced for such excellent quality. Great place to take children too."

"I know this restaurant as the Refuge de Porcherey. The name here may therefore be wrong! It is an 'off-piste ' old farmhouse high above St Nicolas de Veroce. It is family run and the food is fantastic but please book! Otherwise i think the owner and staff get nervous. It is a refuge that is also open in summer and an alternative route for the TMB. It has one of the best mountain views anywhere."

"What a cute little place in Saint Gervais! We walked over for lunch and they were able to seat us right away. We had a great experience from service to our meal! Wine, Beer and Sparkling waters all around! The food was freshly made and salads were incredible. We were surrounded by fresh tomato and pepper plants, herbs and flowers the scents as the wind gently blew while we enjoyed our lunch was unforgettable. We sat for a few hours, shared in stories and drinks. We were not rushed to leave and enjoyed every minute at this little Gem! It is worth stopping at!"

"Passing for the holidays we just loved!!! A great bravo for the deco, the quality and speed of the service and especially the quality of the dishes. Very good value for money! And finally, real carbonara potatoes! But what a kiff!!! and pizzas of a generous size. Nothing to say frankly was perfect. Bravo to these young restaurateurs for their passion, it feels in the restaurant and it feels good!!! Keep going! Courage in these difficult times!"

"This is a fun, alpine chalet-style place with a crowd-pleasingly wide menu and hard-working staff. My wife and I were recommended it by our hotel and we were glad to have gone for dinner. We had the €32 Galete menu 3 courses with three choices for each. If you choose to, you can cook your own main course at the table. Portions were good and the food was fresh and well-presented. At €85 total for two, including 3 glasses of local wine and a bottle of sparkling water, we felt it was good value. The only fly in the ointment (NOT the restaurant’s fault) was the large table of very noisy young British kids next to us. Come on, English parents, keep your children out of earshot."
