"This little corner cafe has a great feel to it when you walk in. Great home made food. Just don't go there if you want to talk business as it is often noisy when you try to talk and there's not much privacy. If, however, you want to just hang out for a coffee with friends, it's a good option. Not open weekends or evenings."

"Kwan's Cantonese Restaurant is a casual Chinese Canadian restaurant located just off of Main Street in Sussex offering full service dining and takeout service. The cozy dining room is pretty low key and has a few tables and a flatscreen TV on the wall. After touring the murals in Sussex, I stopped in at Kwan's for a quick takeout meal. I ordered a Won Ton Soup $5 plus HST) and an Egg Roll $1.50 plus HST). The food was all set in about 10 minutes. The wonton soup in a pint size styrofoam bowl) had plenty of cabbage sliced pieces of roast pork with very soft wontons in a light chicken broth. The folded egg roll was filled with mainly ground meat pork) and some cabbage mixed in. Overall, the food I had was pretty decent and just enough a light dinner."

"Spent the day exploring Taylor Head Provincial Park in the region and was delighted to find this restaurant open on our return toward Halifax. We ordered the seafood specialty and really enjoyed it. The egg rolls were also delicious. The service was fantastic and the staff were friendly and helpful."

"We found this place in the Bradt guide to Nova Scotia and as we were looking for a simple meal before taking the red eye from Halifax to London, decided to give it a try. The setting is not prepossessing in an disused school but the welcome was warm, and we had freshly prepared pork escalope and shepherd's pie with all the trimmings which were very good and amazingly cheap. Lisa, the owner and cook, was so worried that we would not be properly fed on the plane that she even sent us off with cinnamon buns. She deserves to be better known, give a try."
