"Conclusion in advance: Beautiful, well maintained hotel restaurant in the center of town with cozy guest rooms and a beautiful terrace and well maintained food. In principle, highly recommended, if we have also caught a bad day in puncto service. Location: The inn with Hotel better Hotel with Gasthof is located in the center of Uhldingen on a quite large area. Public parking is within walking distance in sufficient quantity and also free of charge. The guest rooms as well as the terrace are only accessible by stairs. The occasion: We were arranged with friends and because we had arrived a bit too early we wanted to drink something on the terrace before the others arrived. The tables for the whole group had been reserved by telephone and had already been covered in the interior. The ambience: Very dense and upscale furnishings with padded chairs and benches, covered with tables with fabric blankets and white runners. A successful combination of traditional the inn is 145 years old and more modern furnishings with a feel-good effect. In a hotel restaurant an absolute no go! Beverages: Since we had to drive there were only alcohol-free Farny yeast wheat at 3,50 € for half a litre, which is fine for the situation. The abundant wines are mostly from the region and are very well explained. The food: The food was praised by our friends in principle, the dishes are very attractive and appealing, recommended. For my part I had ordered a sausage salad with roast potatoes at 7,90 €. When this was served I got big eyes – not because of the portion size that was more than abundant – but because of the dressing. A white dressing overlaid the sausage salad! All right, let's try something else. No, I'm not enjoyable. On closer examination, I saw these typical little herbal crumbles as they occur in finished sauces, so I must assume that here Mr. Knorr has helped in the kitchen. The sausage salad then returned almost untouched. When the colleague of Mr. Georg then dreamed frug she would not have eaten anything I told her the truth: “I didn’t taste it.” After some time, Mr. Georg came to me and explained to me in a school-master manner that this dressing was a more modern kind of yogurt dressing and that you could do this now and I could have asked how the sausage salad was dressed. Hello? If I make something different as a gastronome than it happens normally, then it has to stand in the map, which is not the case. In addition, I notice that with my wife and me even the more expensive Swiss sausage salad has been boned €8.50, although we only had the simple one. However, this is again a plus point my sausage salad has been canceled! Cleanliness: according to the requirements everything is very clean and neat. The tree seeds on the tables and benches on the terrace are now unavoidable when you have such beautiful old trees over the terrace, no deduction because of this. The toilets: these are accessible from the guest rooms but there are still some steps to be overcome. Here too there is excellent cleanliness."
