"Had our usual favourites ‘Canutitos de langostino’, prawns in crispy batter tubes with lashings of smoked paprika mayonaise and simple ‘gambas blancas’, delicately flavoured white prawns you just peel and have with lemon. We decided to add to our repertoire and also ordered ‘vieiras rellenas’ and ‘delicioso de cerdo’ this time as well. The ‘delicious de cerdo’ was 2 large portions of slow cooked pork that came with home made chunky chips and meat juices and lived up to it’s delicious name. The ‘vieiras rellenas’ wasn’t so good, I imagined it as a Spanish version of coquilles st jacques but unfortunately this wasn’t the case. What came looked the part but was smothered in way too much sauce with very little in the way of scallop and prawn which was a real shame. I don’t know what goes on in the kitchen, it’s hard to imagine that the same person who can cook such accomplished dishes like the prawn dishes and pork dish can also be the same person who creates such a bad dish as the stuffed scallop one!"

"We came here twice over a weekend, the first time was great, the second time they were overwhelmed and the service suffered as a result. The menu had changed since we were last here and we were disappointed to see a dish we had really enjoyed last time no longer on the menu, however it’s good the chef changes things up. A new dish on the menu was crispy shrimps with guacamole and tacos which was really tasty but needed more guacamole. I then had a tuna salad which was drowned in oil. For dessert we shared an amazingly light bread pudding dish. On our second visit I had blue cheese and walnut croquettes with punchy Cabrales cheese, then tuna lightly cooked with paprika and dried maize with pisto. Afterwards we had a strawberry cheesecake mousse that wasn’t chilled which spoilt it a little. Overall we really enjoyed both our visits here, however we would avoid coming here again when it’s really busy as food and service both seemed to suffer, and despite the cooking being very accomplished they still make silly mistakes like overdressing a salad and not chilling a cold dessert."
