"I don't know what happened during the visit of jana barbay, but I'm sure there was a good reason, like a failure of equipment, supply questions, etc. This place has been a child (at least) since my father and has never failed to supply delicious local cuisine. it is not 5 stars gourmet French restaurant material they think. that is a cajun diner and that is the level they should expect. Yes, they should be the day special. there is a reason why it is special. they also have a load that sells local favorite pork rinds, tasso, boudin, ponce, reis dressing (dirty reis), etc. they ship overnight throughout the country, packed in dry ice. worth it if they want genuine Cajun food."
