"Booking was simply made online. The restaurant was not overly busy, but the service was slow and a little unorganized by training. Meals were beautifully presented, but dietary poisoning by the pork ribs later in the evening. Contact the restaurant to advise to prevent other diners from having an uncomfortable and never had an answer."

"Staff are a bit hit and miss, but for the most part are pretty great. Food is also a bit hit and miss. We had a variety of meals at our table. Some were very happy, some were merely satisfied, others were not happy at all. Costing is reasonable."

"I did the very first review of the Rice Buffet and gave it a glowing review. However, over the last year or so it has crawled downhill hardly the fresh, abundant food that has been offered in the past. Food wasn 't bursting with freshness (as it has been in the past) especially the prawns. Everything was just a 'bit sad and sorry '. Disappointed as this was a great option for we Senior citizen who are looking for a fresh, affordable meal."

"I cannot understand why this place is not booked to capacity at every meal. The chef is so approachable and accommodating when it comes to special requests, and the food is amazing. Fresh, delicious, and prepared with the true passion of a person who takes absolute pride in their craft. The restaurant itself might not have 5-star views, but it is well-laid out and very comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful, and will do anything to make your dining experience the best it can be. Even the buffet breakfast (a staple of so many resorts) was well worth the $22. Do yourself a favour, Mackay locals, and support this place!"

"We have eaten here a couple of times over the years. Regretted it each time. Family of 4. Mum Dad and two teenage boys who eat volumes. Prices are cheaper than other family places like Mt Pleasant Tavern or North Mackay Bowls club but the food is simply not as nice. If the wife is away and I have to cook I will go there and eat so I dont starve. The wife would rather starve."

"Have seen this place but never tried it. So today we decided to see what it was all about. Needless to say we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the door by a very polite young gentleman. The service was friendly and patient as i took forever to decide. Relaxed atmosphere. Each dish cooked to perfection. Great portion sizes. Recommended to anyone looking for a decent meal."
