"What a lovely way to end our trip to Québec City. We had a short tour and explanation of the collecting syrup from the maple trees at the property. They have an Incredible maple forest. Our tour guide was a very nice young woman, who...explained everything so carefully. Then we were invited into the Sugar Shake family style Lunch. The room was rustic and had long pine tables with benches for seating. We were greeted by a lively entertainer, who played the fiddle, sang folk songs and had us play wooden spoons. it brought back my memories of growing up in SW Ontario with our weekly dances. There was a homemade all you can eat family style menu of French Canadian pea soup, country bread and butter, maple smoked ham, traditional “Québécois Tourtiere ” meat pie, fried potatoes, baked beans, home-made pickles, coleslaw and pancakes with maple syrup. It was a enjoyable and hearty lunch! We then were invited to learn Folk Dances and participate as the fiddler worked his musical magic and allowed us to enjoy, not only the music, but the dancing as well. I can honestly say it has been a while since I did Folk Dancing and had so much fun! .It was a lovely experience and none of us were hungry when we left!"
