"Open table messed up our booking! We booked via the app and drove for an hour and a half to get there hotel du vin called us and explained the open table cock up they were really good and gave us a free bottle of champagne and other drinks as an apology first class response we managed to eat elsewhere but will definitely go back to hotel du vin but probably book direct with them next time and not via open table"

"I went to this restaurant yesterday night, we booked a table for two and was expecting a lot for the money, considering Thai Edge was faultless; very posh.So we arrived at around 6.40, we knew we were early so we just sat in the lounge part until we were called to our table. I asked for some water and my friend had a Stella; the waitress gave me tap water which I wasn't very happy with. It came to 7:10 PM when we were called to a table for FOUR, so it was late and wrong! "Words cannot describe this place, right from the word go we were the first ones through the door and we were welcomed by several various members of staff which set the tone for the night! The waiters and waitresses were perfect all night along with the wine pourer giving bang on descriptions of each paring.. The food was outstanding and each dish literally took our breaths, compliments to all the chef and the team for making my birthday meal as perfect as could be! Fine fine dining just without the London prices! Perfect atmosphere and layout I can't fault anything!"

"Staff lovely and attentive, very knowledgeable about anything on the menu. It was nothing special it was just ok, I had the sea bass and my husband had the fillet steak on the bone, he said it was nice but nothing outstanding, had better. Perhaps we expected too much as a few people hyped it up before we went. Couldn’t fault the staff though they were great and worked very hard. Also loved the vibe but would we go again probably not."

"Our return to Rofuto was good, although a little less so than previously. This as although we were asked by the waitress how we wanted our food, which was a selection of small plates between four of us, we thought this related to what order the dishes came to us, this wasn't the case! Unfortunately everything came out all together, which resulted in the inevitable, that the food you were trying after the first two or three plates was warm at best. What we were expecting and which we think would have been far better, is to have a couple of plates at a time, allowing you to take our time and then receive hot food at reasonable intervals. Having said this, we would certainly return and recommend Rofuto to anyone that has not been before. Also if you want some atmosphere, then maybe go a little later than we did, which was a booking, even though it was a Friday, it was still a little on the quite side."

"We ordered items from the set menu as it had similar fish options as the a la carte. One our mains had arrived we were informed they were out of the main. Very shambolic. We ordered a different main but had to pay full price. Such a shame it's not more organised."

"Myself and my friend visited here as we were in Birmingham for my friend's birthday. We opted for the bottomless champagne lunch. It was all a bit faulty towers-esque style dining. The staff were not familiar with the menu, the meat was pretty over cooked...but still very tender and good quality, it was very quiet but the music kept it from feeling empty. It was just quite unusual, but as we were enjoying bottomless champagne it made for a funny enjoyable lunch time. I don't think our experience is what the restaurant is actually going for, but we enjoyed it none-the-less. I would of given it stars, but when you're spending each on lunch tip, we did expect the staff to know what they were serving and for the beef to of come out pink as promised."
