"Visited Lucius recently after previously spotting it whilst driving past. I was tempted by the Gnocchi on the menu. So after finishing a game of tennis popped along there on my own to have a tasty feed. I wasn't disappointed. Quirky but homely design (which...you come to expect from the Blue Mountain guys) and a really welcoming barman/waiter who sat me down towards the front. A restaurant which doesn't seek to hide solo diners always bodes well I think. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. I ordered spicy prawns and a saffron risotto which was lovely..nice plump prawns and a well cooked, flavoursome risotto. Then what I was waiting for..a Buffalo Mozzarella Pizza with extra anchovies and ham. Yum...it was just great and exactly what the doctor ordered. Fresh as a daisy, good tomatoe sauce, milky salty and stringy mozzarella and the anchovies and ham satisfying my carnivorous and pescatorious (sic) desires ! Lovely...so I reluctantly tell you to try it...which means I will then have to fight you for a table...but remember I have a tennis racquet with me ! !"

"Prior to lockdown this was our number one spot. It was also the first place I tried to get reservations for after lockdown. So we were delighted to be going there with our grown kids. We came early and got a good table, but it...was sticky and the outside area had cigarette butts on the ground and a years worth of dirt in the corners. The service was a bit strange as we were asked to order from an app. Let me say this the service was friendly everyone was nice- but the basics just were not in place. An example is that we ordered meals for four, but they came with flatware for three and one napkin to share between us. We asked for more tartar sauce, but they forgot to bring it. The food was ok average at best -until we got the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It seemed to be microwaved and the ice cream was melted completely by the time mine arrived. She did offer to replace it) The sticky toffee wasn't worth eating. It was such a shame. I hope that this review helps to make some improvements in cleanliness, training of staff and food quality. We will go again and I will make a new review when the Sun comes back to pre-pandemic standards."

"Dropped in here after craving for some sushi (honestly I have not find any good places in London... just after 6pm on a Friday night. It 's a small clean establishment with about 6 tables so it promptly started filling up as we dined. Slightly baffled by the Thai curries on the menu (maybe they are Japanese version of Thai curries ie very sweet , we ordered a chicken katsu don and a medium sushi set which came with 6 nigri sushi (salmon, tuna, octopus, squid, sea bass, mackerel and 6 sha ke maki (thin salmon roll . Whilst the donburi was filling, it was a bit disappointing the chicken katsu was not crunchy as it was made soggy from this soupy sauce and eggs on top. The sushi was a good selection but I would classify them as fairly good but not quite great . (one day I will find that great sushi in London... . I also had green tea, ordered off menu which I think was the same price as a soft drink (a small can and it came in a nice big pot. Overall we came away fairly satisfied and the bill was £20 10% service charge."

"Etta is the perfect hostess. Food was lovely. Particularly enjoyed the fish curry and the fish cakes. Loved the rum cocktail and finished off with delicious banana fritters. Definitely a gem in Brixton Market."

"The most racist establishment in the UK. They cannot continue and we should not contribute financially to them by considering going. On the night of Friday 13th October 2023, my friend and I considered going and stayed in the queue for one hour, only to be told at the front by the security individual that we had to be part of a non-existent guest list . When I questioned the security individual on this, he then changed his reasoning and said we must be accompanied by two women. I asked for his name and he would not give it, and then forcefully grabbed us out of the queue. He will be sued on this as we have taken his picture. I would like to also add that two white males in front of us got in to the venue with no such questioning. On a second occasion earlier this year, I was with my girlfriend, whom was white, and in the middle of the queue, the same security individual came up to us and began to interrogate my girlfriend, asking her what my first name is, then my surname, then how we know each other, and asking for my ID, all the while not looking at me once in the eye. My own girlfriend! We decided to leave straight away and not enter the venue. Similar stories were shared with me by others whom I live with in Clapham about their friends who are people of colour being verbally abused, discriminated on and not being allowed in. This is 2023 in London, not the 1940s KKK. I am thoroughly disappointed with the owner of the venue and he will be properly sanctioned on this form of institutional covert racism. It is a certainty that I will be writing a legal letter to the local MP and Mayor of London office in order to highlight the above observations and evidence in order to close this venue down immediately. The owner as well as each individual in his security team be lawfully taken to court for judgement and punishment on such illegal activities mentioned. I ask everyone who considers going to this venue or have been before to please no longer go, as we can no longer help Cafe Sol continue doing this, by going and paying our hard-earned money to their racially-discriminatory business. A statement can be made by each of us about how racism is unacceptable in this 21st century day and age, especially in a multi-cultural and beautiful city like London. We 're Londoners for a reason. Cafe Sol is a stain on our society, being that no-one should be discriminated on for the colour of their skin."
