"We decided to give Conquistador a try last Saturday night.After waiting approx. 10 min, the waitress brought us a menu and a small loaf of ordinary white bread. (We had been hoping for some nice Portuguese bread). When she returned, she asked what we wanted but no offer of a cocktail before dinner. We decided to try the Grilled Halibut and Grilled Cod. As she took our order, she suggested we try the Spicy shrimp. I asked if they were cooked with Piri Piri sauce and she said they were. We were looking forward to tasting them and but they proved to be disappointing as they were tasteless and had no kick at all. When she returned to clear the table, she left behind the messy plates with the shrimp peels.When our main courses were brought to the table, we looked in surprise at the large spoonful of green/yellow beans and carrots (definitely frozen) and a large lump of BOILED white potatoes. (I wasn’t even sure what the white lump was at first). The halibut looked as if had been frozen and then microwaved too long then seared on the grill, the edges being completely burnt. It was so dry, it was inedible. The cod looked okay but was very salty and full of bones…. YUK….not appetizing at all.The waitress came to inquire about our meal and my partner said the halibut was extremely overcooked. She replied she couldn’t imagine how that would have happened! After about 10 minutes, she returned with another full plate of food, but this time, same burnt sides and now the fish was RAW inside! She didn’t inquire again about the meal and took away two almost full plates of uneaten food. We were so disgusted with our meal…a $90.00 waste of money. We took our uncooked piece of fish home in a doggie bag and offered it to a passing cat, who sniffed it and walked away.WE WILL NEVER, EVER EAT THERE AGAIN and recommend no one else should either."
