"I used to go to this restaurant regularly and quite enjoyed it, so it really saddens me to have to write this negative review. My colleague and I had lunch here today and what happened to us has left us, quite frankly, in a state of shock. First of all, the waitress' lack of professionalism is mind-boggling. She acts like she's doing you a favour by seating you at a table! Instead of doing her job, i.e., making the customer feel welcome, informing him/her of dishes of the day, etc., she instead cheekily comments on your accent and tells you where you come from! (I'm Irish and was thus treated to a full analysis of my appearance and accent...!) After I got over the unpleasantness of being singled out and practically discriminated against - that's what it felt like - the meal itself was good UNTIL.. my colleague takes a piece of bread from the bread basket, proceeds to eat it, only to find that it is buttered and thus is clearly the "recycled" bread of somebody else! This in itself is a shocking discovery to make but the whole thing was compounded by the waitress' reaction. She couldn't have cared less! Her only response was to say "oh, you should have said earlier and I would have brought you another basket"!! Instead of taking responsibility for this disgusting mistake, the blame is apportioned to the customer! I'm sorry to report that the owner's reaction was no better. He wasn't in the slightest bit perturbed by our complaint and actually laughed it off by saying "oh, it must have been someone in the kitchen who wanted a bread and butter sandwich and then his bread got mixed up with yours". As if that was a normal thing that happens in restaurants all the time! If this is what happens to their bread baskets, heavens knows what the general hygiene in their kitchen must be like! We feel sickened and disgusted by what's happened and how we were treated. Won't be going back here ever again!"
