"The main reason we chose this restaurant was because of the lovely view. The food served at this restaurant though is average at best, very bland and tasteless, but the staff are something else, very rude and ignorant. We complained to the owner about my daughters food turning up 10 minutes after ours , then a further 10 minutes after for the rest of her meal, which by then had gone cold . The owners response was somewhat surprising, the most arrogant rude person I have ever had to deal with. I certainly would not recommend this restaurant based on poor service and average, overpriced food."

"We loved por do sol restaurant, it has a farmhouse feel with the decor and the food and service is first class, the waiters are very friendly and welcoming and fantastic host. the fillet steak is absolutely tasty, monkfish chunky and tasty,. smoked salmon melts in their mouth and flambe strawberries and cream brulee were a perfect finish. I recommend this fabulous restaurant. I can't wait to go back if I'm next in alvor."

"We visited this restaurant in August and have just to check. Waiting for food was about an hour and when it finally arrived, it was best. The "potatoes" that accompanied my food were cramps.... very strange!. When the restaurant card...machine was down then, we had a heated disagreement with the waiter in front of the entire square.... his attitude was insulting...... Very good. Would not recommend and will not return."

"My man and I have visited this restaurant for several years with absolute complaints (see previous reviews) however this was our first visit by covid. we stood and waited to be acknowledged and sitting, there were no other customers sitting, standing and standing, while the workers were watching us and continuing to talk, unnecessary to say, we went out and went elsewhere. I'm really not sure what happened to this restaurant, the reviews seem to have a running thema, it's very disappointing as this was a fabulous wee restaurant at a time."
