"Had not been to The Star Inn before but visited last week with my husband and was extremely impressed. Was very clean, a great atmosphere, a fantastic gin menu for me, an extensive wine list for hubby, varied menu for all tastes and the food was amazing quite possibly the best fish I have ever eaten! We will be coming back very soon."

"Arrived at for lunch with friends, we chose the pub based of reviews and word of mouth. Arrived got seated, after 5 mins we were asked for our drinks order, I asked what beers were on tap, the waitress didn’t know and too 5 mins to check, well this was a start of things to come! Drinks arrived and food followed after 20mins, well at least for my friends. After 5 mins at called a different waitress over and asked where my food was, she went to check. After 10 mins she returned and asked what I had ordered. At this point I was angry and no longer hungry due to embarrassment of not eating with my friends. My friend said we will take it away as I will be hungry. 20 mins later the bill arrived with a sandwich and chips wrapped up in silver foil all sweaty, even worse not what I ordered. After at further 10 mins with no waitress coming to take payment, we chose to pay at the bar. I said to the waitress/bar lady, I note my beer is still on the bill and I refused to pay for the beer out of sheer disgust. Suddenly the bar manager (man) came over and said why are you not paying for your beer, I explained the above, the reaction was what’s wrong with the beer then you can pay for that. I again refused to pay for the beer and said surely if you received the service I have today, you would want to give me a free beer out of respect. The bar manager and his attidtude towards customers and customer service is disgusting. I will make it my life’s mission tell everyone I know in the area of the service recieved and never grace you with my presence again. Honestly, you couldn’t applogise for your errors, serve up a meal in foil, expect me to pay for my drink, be rude and think that is ok,"

"We went for my parents birthday and must say what a wonderful experience. Service was excellent, the staff are very good and the food was first class. Definitely recommend Mid point to everyone. And as a little surprise for my parents birthdays they gave us a slice of birthday cake. Which was a really nice touch."

"One of my favorite fish chip shops in essex. the staff are polite, friendly and take care of their customers. the scampi is the best I had in one. I have no complaints about everything I have ordered and eaten, the money I think is worth."

"Last august I won a 250 voucher for dine at dusk. I was so excited as his place that was one because on my list, but I was not able to visit as a child allowed to arent (probs should be on date night with hubby without the children ia going on a day.) I decided to take the nutters with me. eating is half and no alcohol is served on the premise. once sitting, we were told that we sampled the 5 cursor tasting menu. I chose this: the tasting menu is designed to be a theatre and cooking experience that serves dishes with liquid nitrogen, a campfire. some of the dishes we tried were tasty! the wagyu 2 away, as the name already says, is served two away; hot and cold (they bring over the liquid nitrogen to cool the meat immediately.) the meat was nicely cooked, it literally melts in the mouth. the aromen have worked together so well. I liked the hot version about the cold meat. absolutely loved, loved this dish! the kellogs cornflakes were a posh popcorn huhn, served with a really delicious sauce. the campfire was sensational! the lamb dogs were perfectly boiled, juicy, tasteful and so delicious! The ghost-reaper-grand was heavenly, I have immersed everything in the engraving. the court was lukewarm! I thought these desserts were okay. the service was great, they were very attentive. the restaurant had a live DJ, so it was extremely loud, until the point sometimes we could not hear that was a scandal. I'm not sure they play music every day. overall we really enjoyed most dishes, eating had a full of aromen and was very well cooked. id recommend the wagyu 2 away and campfire dishes! 5 cursor tasting menu: 89 3 cursor tasting menu: 59 @duskbrentwood"

"Brilliant service on large order for 36 people placed a few days before . Arrived at the appointed time on a Friday night to find the staff just finishing our order. Fish , chips and sausages were all of good quality and we did get a great deal on the price . Would recommend ."
