"As a tourist we had a meal here due the very affordable prices. This seems like the place the locals go to drink and have functions. Had very few tourists at the time. Great value for money. You get free soup and a wide verity of pub food. Choice of chips or salad. Can't complain about quality due to the price."

"It is one of the worst takeaways we have ever had since our time in New Zealand. The staff had a bad attitude, non customer friendly and the food that they prepared was extremely bad. We just ordered the fish,loaded chips and squid rings. The batter tasted terrible, and it seems like they ran out of salt as none of the dishes we ordered had salt in it. A total waste of money. Maybe the takeaway is under new ownership. We chose this place after reading all the good reviews, but it was a complete disappointment."

"Probably the most appreciated bakery cafe for the locals, they do a very good pie. Very much worth the visit on a cold day, and being a local favourite you know you'll be treated right. I would have given them 5 stars but sadly the cafe is just lacking that something to make it a memorable visit. Well worth stopping by nonetheless."
