"So glad we found this shop as the food was amazing and the choice for vegetarians was brilliant. We were the last customers (tip don’t turn up just before closing time as they stop serving maybe 20 25 mins before to give them time to get existing orders out) and I’m so glad we just got there in time. Massive portions, crispy batter, freshly cooked food with a fun (slightly zany) atmosphere. Haddock, goujons, calamari , halloumi and onion rings were fabulous eaten on the beach just a 5 min walk away."

"Went to Chard today for lunch with 2 friends. We received a warm welcome and decor is lovely and chic. We all ordered the same a Seafood creamy chowder which came with chunks of gorgeous fresh buttermilk soda bread. The chowder was, creamy, warming, flavoursome and full of smocked haddock. I was so full as much as I wanted to try some of the gorgeous cakes in display I was too full. But for sure I will be back this is a hidden gem above Igigi an arty general store."

"Akin made the whole experience so wonderful. He’s very gentle by nature and attentive. My friend and I were supposed to celebrate her birthday meal here but had to cancel due to sickness. I went along and ordered take away instead. He offered my Turkish tea while I waited for my order and when he found out it was for her birthday he gave us a free caramel cheesecake and sent their birthday love. Well it goes without saying. The food was phenomenal! Thank you x"

"Six of us yesterday, some had starters of goats cheese croquettes, salt cod, chicory, Roquefort and candied walnuts, then four roast pork, one bouillabaisse and a beetroot wellington. Desserts were tarte tatin, mixed crème brûlée with madeleines and mixed sorbet. It was all snaffled down happily, all was delicious. The roast pork had great crackling, sumptuously melting meat, lovely greens, flavoursome spuds although could have been crispier, and a nice assortment of greens, carrot, parsnip and baby turnip plus a fluffy yorkie and gorgeous gravy. Great service by smiley waitresses, fab afternoon."
