"We’ve ordered takeaways from Bombay lounge several times and the quality has been consistently high. Tonight there was a mix up with the order. The delivery guy (sorry I didn’t ask your name) caught the mistake before handing the order over. We ended up after only a small delay with nearly double the food we’d ordered (the original incorrect order was complimentary, on top of our order), a free bottle of wine and profusive apologies. Absolutely fantastic customer service. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"I had a strange experience this afternoon at the Quality Fish Bar. I was approached by the owner and asked whether I'd been writing on Tripadviser recently. I have now! And confronted whether I write reviews under a pseudonym. The answer to your question is no. I go under my proper name. I have no problem giving my opinion on a particular subject, if the situation warrants an opinion. My opinion on your food, service, cleanliness is simple. Its very good. In fact. Its better than very good. But just because a customer doesn't come into your shop for 18 months. This doesn't mean that they're writing reviews and criticising your ability to carry out your job. The Fish Bar certainly delivers on quality, it's not just in the name. But if people decide not to eat at your Fish Bar. It will not be because of the food. It will be because of your attitude."

"We have been to Tub’s about 5 times now, and always we leave with mixed feelings. One thing is constant though, at any a time when the weather is cold, then Tub’s is so cold we keep our coats on. Our last visit was again so cold, despite dressing in warm clothing we kept our coats on. I spoke to a young lady and she said she would turn the heating on, but the radiators across from us was cold throughout our stay, and there is a back door that is used by staff that was constantly opening and closing making matters worse, a heater above that door would make a huge difference there. I later commented to another staff member re the cold, and was told they had remarked how cold it was when they came to work and were told it’ll be ok when more people come in, so that’s how the place in heated then, body warmth? We ordered a bottle of wine, and we were told it was not at the correct temperature, so we were given a lovely glass of Sauvignon blanc gratis as we waited for the bottle to cool. We ordered our food, battered prawns for him and soup for me, followed by rump steak and frites, and the Porcus Pizza for myself. I asked that my pizza was well done, it’s always the way I have pizza. The soup was wonderful, I was slightly surprised it was accompanied by thinly sliced bread and butter so cold it was solid, and the prawns my husband had were more batter than prawn. My pizza arrived pale and slightly doughy, even my daughter remarked it looked pale when I sent her a picture, though it was nice enough. The rump steak was cooked are requested, medium but had been so well rested that it was only lukewarm, though the frites were lovely and hot and crisp. However, because we were so cold, we decided to get the bill and order a taxi home. The staff member who delivered the bill asked us how things had been for us, and I did tell her about the prawns and the pizza, and again reiterated that were were very cold. I cannot fault the staff, they are pleasant and friendly, but it really is that last time we will visit Tub’s as the main dining area is a large room with very high ceiling but it seems the proprietor is not keen to heat it, as every time we have been in the colder seasons, we have been freezing."

"It is over 40years since we last stepped into the Alma Inn and a lot has changed to be honest I don't remember it from then, but we decided to go out for lunch and as we only live about 10mins away now thought we would try it, we were not disappointed a very warm welcome greeted us we were asked if we were staying for lunch and got our drinks first, the food was lovely very well presented and tasted great trust me it will not be another 40 years before we revisit I think The Alma will be a regular place to dine, oh And did I mention the views what a spot 365 deg. Views of the fabulous countryside both Yorkshire and Lancashire.......fabulous ......"

"Can’t fault this lovely little pub. we stayed here when we came over for the emmerdale tour, the rooms were gorgeous and so private away from the main pub. very good value for money. I am gluten free and the gf options are tremendous also a lot of vegan/ veggie options. every meal was a great portion and food was faultless. the service from staff was so kind and welcoming : atteneded to anytbing we needed. the pub was so lively and great atmosphere , can tell it’s a much loved place. will be back here when we visit again. plenty parking for guests too"

"Visited here with a group of friends for the Xmas menu. There was a choice for all courses, all were deemed as very good with lovely flavours. Served efficiently by students, we were well looked after. The price for all courses was only £20.00. Well worth supporting this establishment. Plenty of car parking to the rear of the college."
