"Recommended by our hotel, three of us at the early seats at this place, away from the old town, but only 10 minutes to walk from our hotel. we arrived at 7:30 a.m. and were the second party sitting, but within 10 minutes the entire place was full and dizzy with activity. our friendly and spunky waiter, paul, (can be the name, pablo was hurried yet very friendly. we started with the plentiful platter of the charcuterie, consisting of thin cut local meat including ham de bayonne, salami and chorizo as well as some local pate of pork. for entrées enjoyed two of us the entrécore (thinsteak,) who came with fries and a bit salat and a person got the pan-fried fish that was delicious. of course the meal came with mouthwatering French brot. a cheap and yet delicious bottle red wine from st. emilion was a great welcome. we were too full of dessert, but the decisions looked appetit. if they are looking for a really local place, this is a good choice."

"We went to La Boëte twice and really enjoyed both the great food and the friendly atmosphere. It is relatively small and reservations are recommended. It is not unexpensive, but we found the prices reasonable and it is really worth the visit."

"Le seul point positif : nous avons été très bien accueillis dans ce restaurant. Les menus ne sont pas chers, mais la qualité n'est pas au rendez-vous, nous avons apprécié les entrées (la soupe de poissons et les moules à la planche). En revanche, les plats n'étaient pas terribles : l'axoa était trop gras et n'avait pas vraiment le goût de l'axoa, le merlu était sec et la sauce gâchait le plat (l'écrasé de pommes de terre était bon). Concernant les dessert, c'était très moyen : le gâteau basque ressemblait davantage à de la frangipane et le fromage de brebis avait dû prendre un coup de chaud avant le service... Nous ne reviendrons pas, un bon resto de touristes malheureusement !"

"Was introduced to this little gem by a friend, who was camping at the site behind it, situated on the beach in a little cove to the north of St Jean De Luz. There are two elements to the restaurant with bar area, (serving cocktails,...drinks and snacks) overlooking the beach and the restaurant itself at the front of which is a rotisserie roasting cochon de lait when we went! The waiters are incredibly friendly and helpful, one previously working at L'Escargots in London before leaving for USA!! We had oysters as a starter (very good and the dipping sauce was yummy) with cochon, moules and chipirons to follow......the pig was excellent, the moules very good (with home made chips) and the chipirons were good although the latter was hardly a main course helping for a main course price! The Cote du Boeuf for one that was delivered to the table next to us was HUGE and the steak tartare looked brilliant too.....certainly know what I am having when we go there next week and looking forward to it!!!!"

"We ordered a La Carte and the service was prompt and unobtrusive. We were served two amuse bouche courses. The menu is definitely innovative but you need to be slightly adventurous and keen on seafood. I would definitely eat there again."
