"The Bay Horse is part of the group of vintage Inns and that was my first visit to one of their restaurants to taste their vegan menu and when we took a non- vegan friend for lunch, I needed some catering for all of us. The vegan options are not only a token salad or after thought, but a good selection of appetizers, nets, sides and dessert. There are several soups on the menu and you are always vegan, so we chose both cauliflower Mulligatawny, served with Ciabatta bread. The soup was hot pierced, with a beautiful thick texture and warming on a cold June lunch time, with lots of bread for diving and cleaning the bowl. As the main course I ordered pine nuts and carrots, with one side of the fried butternut pig and carrot and spiced squash coconut curry for naves. The falafels with sharp red pepper peel and ciabatta were as tasty as the sweets and sweet potatoes and although an appetizer, it was much big enough as a lunch dish. Hubby's Curry was a good size, the loads of vegetables and beans and the charred chilis on the top added a lot of heat, so much that he had a real sweat, but he loved it. We were too full for dessert, although the puddings in offer were very tempting, but it is good to see that they are not just fruit salad. I think Vintage Inns vegan menu is a fabulous offer, the food is satisfied with a lot of taste and good value for money and I will definitely return."

"Absolutely fantastic lunch at Le Caveau .... ambiance first class as was the service ... the food was exemplary ... this restaurant was recommended to me by their fish and seafood supplier who happens to be a golfing buddy. He explained that some chefs ask whats cheapest ... Mark the chef/proprietor of Le Caveau always ask whats best !!! Says everything really. I had, on Marks recommendation Scallops starter followed by Turbut and slow cooked shin of beef , dessert was creme brullee. My wife had grilled ballotine of black pudding with chicken and chorizo poached egg and pea veloute followed by the Roast Venison, and cheese board to finish, everything was absolutely amazing We had travelled from Blackpool for a day out in Skipton including lunch. We enjoyed it some much we have booked for our wedding anniversary at the end of the month along with an overnight stay at the Wooley Sheep pub which is a stones throw away and recommended by chef Mark, and are really looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic evening meal/anniversary occasion."
